We liked the property very much. The rooms were clean and amenities were well provided. The management kept the property and landscape in immaculate condition. The food was well done. We stayed there for four nights and everything went well.

Outstanding staff in a beautiful hotel with great breakfast. The owner of the hotel personally selected the different heritage items in each room. The staff went out of their way to make sure our every need was taken into consideration.

Very private and secure exotic location. Staff is responsive and friendly. The spa was fantastic and very reasonable for the services provided. Easy to relax by the pool and the suites are extremely well fitted and luxurious.

After hopping city to city in India, I was looking for a escape from the noise, pollution, and general chaos. Enter: windermere estate. The room looked over a valley carpeted in tea estates. A naturalist led a trek through the estate each day. Breakfast was sumptuous (who provides a fruit BASKET instead of a fruit cup? These Guys). I basically walked around the estate, breathed in fresh air, read on the lookout point or in the estates library, and got some solace before jumping back into Mumbai....

I want to qualify what a couple other reviews said about this hotel. 1) they do now serve alcohol, so don't worry about that, and they would go into town and get anything you need for you 2) It's not entirely in the middle of no where - but if you want to do a lot of sight seeing stay in Trivandrum, this is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the view. I stay here every time I'm in town once a year. It's a cute, modern place at a very reasonable price. The staff is helpful, rooms are clean, and food is pretty good. It offers a really cool view down on the city with an excellent location for a city stay.

Our stay at Shalimar Spice Garden was the highlight of our time in South India--we only wish we had booked more than just two nights! The setting is idyllic, the staff is lovely, the food is delicious, and overall it is an island of beauty and serenity. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

With only 28 rooms/stand-alone bungalows this is a 5-Star experience with unbelievable service in the backwaters of Kerala. We had a bungalow overlooking the large lake and it was luxurious- like a private house on a hotel property. Private pool, outdoor bathroom, shower and bathtub with an overhead fan was charming.
