"Do make sure you confirm your reservation with the hotel. I had to send to send a friend to the hotel to physically confirm my reservation before I arrived in Mauritania. Do expect check in to take anywhere from two to five hours. We waited an hour and a half for checkin because electricity was down. We found many families who have been waiting for hours for check in.
