"Location is wonderful, a few easy steps to Commercial Street, harbor, etc. The property is old and very much in need of refurbishment. There is evidence that the management is working to that end. Restaurant was closed, which is challenging if staying on the weekend because there are literally only a handful of places to eat on a Sunday and reservations are hard to come by. "Positives - great location in Scalloway, room quiet and bed was comfy. Breakfast was included and there was a good choice of cooked and buffet items. Negatives - we booked via Expedia and chose to pay a deposit with the remainder due on arrival and full cancellation available until a week before. We had a confirmation letter from the hotel via Expedia that said that the final balance would be taken on arrival. I tried to contact the hotel several times between booking and arrival to confirm...

"The hotel is very well situated for exploring the full area of the Shetland Islands. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is plenty of parking space and there is a fuel station next door and a very good fish and chip shop across the road, both of which are very useful."

"The chalets are set in the most beautiful location overlooking Scalloway. Easy access by car to the whole island. The chalet was very clean with everything we needed and perfect for 2 people. "We have stayed at the Kveldsro for a week plus on two occasions, and really enjoyed ourselves each time. The hotel is not a new building, but as a result is full of character. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms fairly recently updated. The dining room and many of the bedrooms have a wonderful view over the Lerwick harbour.
