Our stay at Uga Ulagalla was by far the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. Far from the busy roads and honking buses this multi acre property was an oasis. We accidentally found this fabulous hotel due to sudden change of our vacation plan. Hotel is located in very calm quiet area within 10 km from Sigiriya local ticketing office. We had an unexpectedly wonderful time in the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and supportive. Hotel has two well maintained pools and beautiful restaurant. This property is pretty unique in its location, away from "the rest of the world". You really are in nature, surrounded by nothing else than rice paddies, lake, and such a variety of birds. It is peaceful, staff are very friendly and helpful, food is excellent and will accommodate vegetarian and gluten free needs. There is nothing I can fault our experience on!

This is a small hotel punching well above its weight thanks to the wisdom and care of its manager, Anna. As a family of 5 she looked after our every need - including excellent in house Ayervedic massage and bike hire. Rooms are clean, spacious and shower best so far in SL. Highly recommended.

This hotel is one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever been to. It’s so quiet and peaceful. The cabins are very clean and well furnished. The garden is amazing. The staff are so nice and the breakfast is delicious.

Great staff who made my trip to Sigiriya an excellent one. Location is good - quiet, but still close to where you want to be. Nice breakfast both mornings.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are good to very good. The pool is wonderful and the grounds well kept. Beware the guides and venders and Tuc tuc drivers at Sigiriya Rock. They will overcharge dramatically if allowed. You need to be good at bargaining in Sri Lanka. (Which I am not but learning quick). Agree on price in advance. Ask hotel manager or staff for help. Don't be afraid to use the bus. I found it fun to ride and easy to catch and a super bargain.

We had a beautiful and peaceful stay at this property. The pool is exquisite and the rooms are so cool and beautiful. The wildlife is astounding and it was so tranquil to quietly watch it unfold around us. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well, arranging for us a trip to Lion Rock.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Otunna Guesthouse. We came in later then anticipated, and Dinesh, the owner, was in constant contact with us. They offered fresh passionfruit juice on arrival, and made the most delicious breakfast every morning that was probably the best spread all trip.
