Apartment unit was very nice, shower was cold but in buildings like that it's hard to keep the shower water warm. The sunrise view was beautiful, the walk on Detroit River boardwalk was awesome, neighborhood nice. Due to construction it was harder to get to the parking lot but we found a way. The back parking lot seemed sketchy so I am glad we got a spot in the front parking lot. My son (age 13) loved the loft room.

Detroit Lions Trip

The property manager was very cool and quick to respond to questions. The area is all good, not far at all from downtown Detroit. The building is cool, older building but very spacious and clean. Would stay again for sure.

Great spot and location. The building is a bit quirky and rustic, but overall it was a fine stay. The hosts were EXTREMELY responsive on any questions. Thanks again!

Great spot for a few guys going to a concert

Place was easy to find and host was super helpful and responsive. 3 beds and 2 big couches so plenty of space for some couples or a few guys looking to go out downtown. We did walk back from ford field one night but if it’s chilly I’d get an Uber (which in non prime time was $9-14 to get to Greektown) Room was spacious and had a great view for having coffee on the rooftop. Would definitely stay again. Way cheaper than staying at a hotel

Football Game & Christmas Fun

The apartment was in a low key location not directly Downtown. But it was close enough. Nice view of Downtown and river. The apartment was roomy and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The loft was neat and offered additional sleeping space. We appreciated the Keurig and coffee pods! The smart TVs in each space were nice for bedtime. Overall great apartment.

Affordable place in Detroit

Great place to stay if you are in town for a game or short visit. Host was responsive and friendly. The building is very old and the area seems a little run down. The place had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. We did hear gun shots outside the towards the back of the building while we were there around 4 am but its Detroit. With that being said, I still felt safe while inside the complex. The building has security cameras and you catch an uber/lyft within minutes. Would stay here again.

Bridal Dress Shopping

We had a very nice stay for one night, very comfortable. I was a bit surprised that in the other reviews no one mentioned the loft set up. There was no rail and I was worried all night about the two sleeping up there that they would get up and go off the side. It was just an overnight stay, so no biggee, but the kitchen was a bit sparse with only 2 coffee mugs. Other than that, it was clean and we loved the view and the roof access.

Entry is much simpler than it seems. Arrive during the day so you have the sunlight on your side. "Post with lockbox between 2 trees" is located on the INSIDE of the fenced parking area. You will see several lockboxes on the OUTSIDE of the fence, the one you need is easy to overlook. I did contact the host and response was prompt. After successfully obtaining the key, the main door to the building was found to be wedged open. Located the unit easily but immediately upon opening the door, we were approached by a "neighbor" who asked to see inside, we said no and they seemed respectful and to understand and didnt approach us again. Unit was clean, not sterile by any means. Found a dried out contact lense on the bathroom sink, but that was really the only genuine issue. The building is HISTORIC. Its in the description. Ceiling near window isnt the prettiest but for us it wasnt an issue and really added to the historic charm. There is no barrier along the edge of the loft so you need to be extra careful up there. Also up there, there is a fire sprinkle line that hangs kinda low so watch your head. Heat worked well. There is a rooftop even with the bottom of the window so when you look out the window, the rooftop is alot of your view, but you can see the river and city easily. On the rooftop, there is also some type of spinning exaust vent that made a pretty consistent noise while we were sleeping but i did have some travel ear plugs that allowed me to sleep thru it.

As advertised.

This condo is in an old building in Corktown, which is approximately 1.5 miles from downtown. It was a quick Uber ride to Comerica Park - you would not want to walk. There was ample parking out front of the building, and it was well-lit. The building was quiet, but as mentioned, quite old, so there was no elevator (that we could see.) Not an issue for us. There was really nothing else around the condo so if you want to walk to eat or buy a drink somewhere, you're out of luck. The inside of the condo was quite spacious, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. The air conditioner was *okay* but did not cool the space sufficiently. There were three standing fans to compensate. Again, not an issue for us, but it wasn't that hot while we stayed. The walls of the condo could really use a fresh coat of paint, especially in the bathroom. While it seemed clean enough, the dirty walls and fixtures (lamp shade, light switch) detracted from that. The bedding was very clean, but we did not use the shower. The end wall was all windows, which was neat, but they were dirty and there were no curtains/blinds so in the morning, it was full sunlight in the condo. With an update and fresh coat of paint, this condo would have been lovely. With all that said, it was as advertised, very affordable, and a great one-night stay not far from downtown. The owners were very communicative and accommodating.

Upon arrival, we had difficulty communicating with the owner. There had been a payment issue but VRBO never told us & any messages the owner was sending never came through. The link to the page that was supposed to contain instructions was broken. We had to contact VRBO and get them to contact the owner, only to find out we had to process a payment to get access. Note - the outside of the building and the parking areas are POORLY maintained. The gated parking is wild. People park any sort of way and the gate does not close or lock. We then had to locate a lock box and get the key to the building front door. Only having one key to the front door was inconvenient with 2 people w/ separate schedules. Once inside, we discovered there was only a freight elevator and it couldn't be used because there was no one there to crank it even though we arrived during office hours. The manager in the office was less than nice. We lugged out bags up the entry stairs and the 2 flights of stairs to our floor. Operating the door pad lock was easy and the loft itself is beautiful. The loft is spacious and clean. The window unit could be bigger and the person who sleeps hot should sleep in the living room bed as there is only a fan in the front bedroom. There is a loft bed but the access ladders are for young folks. There was a strong smell of weed in the building, if you are sensitive, take that into consideration. Overall the loft is in a GREAT location, well priced, and we enjoyed our stay.
