"The building is centuries old, so keep that in mind. The stairs are not always level, but they manage to provide modern amenities. The restaurant is a favorite among locals for good reason. And the House is across the street from the cathedral. So convenient."

"There was no lift and although staff helped me with my case,I still had to climb up and down to the 2nd floor. I had asked for a lower room because I have severe heart failure, despite having booked in January, there were many people, far fitter than me on the 1st floor. My room was clean but the curtain was not hanging properly. Many of the carpets need a clean, so did the big window on the stairs which was filthy with cobwebs, The garden needed tidying up, there were cigarette butts...

"Friendly and helpful receptionist on arrival and also the next day. My single room was clean as was bed linen and towels. Room not large but more than adequate for an overnight stay. No dinner served in the hotel but they are happy to recommend local eateries of which there are many. The hotel does have a bar which was open for 4 hours in the evening. Breakfast was buffet style with a selection of cereals, fruit, yogurts, toast and cooked. They cook your eggs to your preference eg poached, fried...

"It was a quaint hotel. The staff were extremely friendly. We really appreciated Simon, the bartender, Victoria the manager, Katelyn and Angie as well. There were others I didn’t catch their names. The breakfast buffet was outstanding as was the restaurant. The location was perfect to be able to walk to City Centre. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore Salisbury and the surrounding countryside."

"Had to ask for a room change on arrival as too many steps at various intervals on way to room E.g bathroom had 2 step drop into the room. Not ideal for elderly couple. Having said rhat one has to remember that it is one of the oldest buildings in the town. This was our second stay there and will be back ."

The steak pie had very little gravy, and the same staff member was on her phone at the service counter, so I couldn’t request more. No offer of dessert. "This was lovely in many ways. My room was spotless and spacious, Breakfast was hot and plentiful with a reasonable choice. The new season has maybe not kicked in as some of the outside areas could do with a little tidy up. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. This is not the fault of the hotel, but it is worth noting that there are few public transport links to the local towns and seemingly none before 9.30 am or after about 7 pm.,"
