We had a one night stay here as we were visiting relatives in the village. From our arrival to our departure everything was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and super efficient .Would recommend for a nice place to stay.
Excellent stay, super friendly staff, we arrived late and they were nothing but brilliant about it. Room was warm in arrival and beautiful, the whole place was oozing character. Food was fantastic, staff amazing and room beautiful. We can't wait to go back.
My stay at the George&Dragon was met with friendly helpful staff, hotel was very clean and accommodating, for me its the staff who gives the George& Dragon the praise, well done girls
Really nice quirky hotel dating back to the 1600's. We had the ensuite room and it was clean, tidy and comfortable. Good drink making facilities in the room, good bathroom with a lovely deep bath. Chippy the owner was friendly and helpful with local knowledge. The restaurant majors on fish dishes, and the menu depends on what is available that day.
Me and my partner ( Demi & Harry )stayed for the night and found this to be better accommodating than some over rated 5 star Hotels, it was all round amazing and the staff could not do enough for us , this is genuinely on par if not better than some of the top class venues, we will definitely be staying again without a shadow of doubt , when down in the Wiltshire area visiting family.
Thanks to my Dad for booking
A lovely welcoming traditional pub with rooms. The staff were great and dinner was delicious. Although the booking states breakfast included, be aware that is the continental element only and cooked food is charged extra. I personally didn’t mind but would have been a little disappointed if I planned to have a full breakfast. The room was lovely but the shower was only just warm and the pressure was poor. Again, I’m used to hit & miss facilities but had my wife been staying, she wouldn’t have been best pleased.
Just back from two nights using The George and Dragon as our base for the weekend. The very helpful Richard let us in as Chippy and his team were away catering at a wedding. Our room was spacious, comfortable and full of character. The mini fridge and fresh milk was a nice touch and the wifi was reliable. Met Chippy at breakfast next morning - friendly and welcoming, organised a taxi to get us to a party and recommended a very good restaurant nearby (the pub restaurant was closed on a Sunday night) which we tried and enjoyed very much. Very sorry to have missed dining at The George and Dragon as the restaurant and menu looked great - so will have to go back at some stage.
We had a very friendly and welcoming check in, but the room and amenities were very much not up to expectations. The “private” bathroom is not an en suite, but rather you have to go down the hallway.
The carpet was dirty and old, and my partner got bitten by some sort of bug that has made the bed its home.
The rooms are just above the pub kitchen so everything smells of cooked fat.
