"First off the property is undergoing renovation, as it is one of Kasa's newest properties. The rooms that are finished and able to be stayed in are still brand new furnishings. The bed was amazing and extremely comfortable, and the couch was very comfy, as well. The rooms are modernized, and brought to the 21st century, all the while maintaining the old rustic structure of the brick building. I would recommend staying at the property for the experience, and the amenities!! It is unmanned and all virtual, with no host or hostess on the property. QR codes will be involved, but if you are tech savvy than it won't be a problem, and even if you aren't they make it pretty easy for you to check in!! "

"We’re so glad we booked a couple nights at Andy’s Place! We usually stay at the A-frame (which we love), but this home offers a completely different and equally wonderful experience. It’s full of charm and character—you can really feel the love and thought that went into creating the space.We spent most of our time out on the porch, just soaking in the peaceful vibe and listening to the rain. Our senior dog was also very relaxed here and enjoyed her time napping on the porch.Wish we had stayed longer and didn't have to leave tomorrow but we will definitely be back! "The room was tidy and overlooked the river. Falling asleep to the sound of water rushing over the old mill dam was very special. The restaurant below the hotel had the best coffee and espresso in Maine. No hyperbole. The best. We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant over the weekend. It is a “you get what is fresh and in season” menu with a few decisions for the guest to customize. People may unfairly consider this restrictive whereas we thought it highly pragmatic and forward thinking. If there’s only a few wines, it’s because they are good. If there’s only a few options on main courses, also good. The service and food was excellent overall. In terms of hotel experiences, we enjoyed the self service entry and checkout. No lines, final bills, awkward barriers in or out. There are a lot of hidden gems in Maine, and people ramble about culinary experiences that punch above their weight class. Our experience was a nuanced, sensory joy just being around salt of the earth locals and a weekend getaway that firmly cemented itself as just a time when everything felt right. We’ve done a lot of Michelin dining, and sometimes the se donner de grands airs (putting on airs) is cloistering and decimates mirth and the quiet smiles of a thing done consistently well because it’s the right way to live. This experience lets you love Maine."
