"Room was comfortable but despite us arriving during the course of the afternoon, our booked room was given to other VIP guests and a single bed was shoved into a double bedroom which made our stay rather uncomfortable. The breakfast was nice."
"There was a bit of a drain smell coming from the bathroom. The LEd lights under the facias and the room does not have "Block out" curtains so the lights at night disturbed my sleep a bit. Other than that, the place is fine "

Beautiful artwork everywhere, comfy and quiet rooms and a wonderful breakfast.
The guest house is also a 3 minute drive from a mall with restaurants and shops, so very conveniently located.
Highly recommended for your trip to the Eastern Free State!

"We had a 1 night stay over at the Golden Gate hotel. We initially thought we booked at the hotel but was surprised that we had booked a chalet. The chalet was perfect with its own braai (BBQ) outside and all the amenities required for a proper self catering experience. Would definitely stay there again as it about a 15 minute scenic drive to Clarens."
