"We had a pleasant time with our family and friends at the property, but there were several areas that needed improvement.
Here are some of the cons:
- We arrived at 7 am on the day of our check-in, but as a Bonvoy member, we were not able to get early check-in (for free) until 1 pm.
- We booked an all-inclusive package, but we only received our room keys at 3 pm.
- The first room we were given was a room for disabled people, and we requested a regular room. The second room was not clean.
- The third room was to our liking.
- The treadmills at the gym were not working properly almost every day.
The most frustrating experience was when I requested a refund for two of my family members who arrived two days after my arrival. I was unable to get a refund, and Expedia told me that I needed to contact the property, while The Westin told me that I needed to contact Expedia. No one was taking responsibility for the refund. I booked the vacation in January and requested the refund update since then, but I haven’t received a response.
The property needs to update its rooms.
On the positive side, we had beautiful weather, great food, and friendly staff. The staff at the buffet, Starfish Grill, pool, front desk, Panamazing company, and others were all great. We also took a tour of the Panama Canal and the San Blas Islands, which was an amazing experience!"
