"Unfussy hotel, decent food, beautiful views. Lovely onsen, although the property was obviously aged and certain parts had peeling paint. Overall a great stay for the price. "

Many shrines are also in the area and all are easy to walk to. Nipponia is an INCREDIBLE place to stay with every aspect exceeding my expectations. "Our stay at Ruokan Hiyoshi was the highlight of our day trip to Chichibu. It's about 7 min walk from the Seibu-Chichibu station, and 20 min walk to the Chichibu Shrine.The guesthouse was very clean, the amenities were excellent, and the owner was extremely accommodating and friendly! 2 of us in the group do not eat meat, and there was just NO vegan option at any restaurant, which was very sad, but you can find few (double check the ingredients) at the convenient stores (e.g. 7eleven, family...
