The Oak Alley Plantation was fantastic. The staff at the Holiday Inn Express recommended a fantastic restaurant in downtown Donaldsonville. This restaurant served, by far, the best meal we had on out 2 week vacation.

The valet whose name is Verdell, was courteous and very helpful . He was my first contact with Ballys and he set the tone for my visit. Rhonda at the reception desk was welcoming . The room was spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed the 2 beds and the large separated sitting area. We enjoyed the kitchen, but there was no dining table, just a huge empty space where the dining table could be. That's ok bc we were only there for one night. Second time staying at this property and it is really the best property in Baton Rouge. I travel frequently to the city and have stayed in many short term rentals and this is by far the best thought out, cleanest, best maintained property of all.

We stayed in Donaldsonville because of ease of access to the River Road to sight see and tour the plantations. Had a blast!!!
The area is under developed. The pizza hut doesnt deliver. They only thing to do there is leave.
