  • At the heart of Cathar country, ideally located between the medieval Cities of Carcassonne and Mirepoix, Villa Rani is a haven of peace and unspoilt nature. Surrounded by hills, forests, vineyards shimmering colors, this is an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday for nature lovers, outdoor sports enthusiasts, hiking, ride for couples, families.
    Many natural, historic and cultural, are charged with exciting story, waiting for you to deliver you their charm and mystery: the medieval cities of Carcassonne and Mirepoix, Cathar castles, the upper Aude valley with its unusual villages Rennes les Bains, Rennes le Chateau, Bugarach. You will discover Limoux, its vineyards, terroir of Blanquette, the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean (1h) and many other remarkable sites.
    We designed the Villa Rani for your well-being with ecological materials, you will feel close to nature. All rooms have direct access to the outside. The rooms each have a terrace with armchair or garden furniture. Rani Villa is surrounded by relaxing landscape.

    The pool area for private use is spacious, comfortable, it will welcome you for a pleasant moment of relaxation. The pool is 9 x 3 meters, it is surrounded by a large wooden deck and a shaded area. It is located about thirty meters from the Villa. Summer lounge, sunbathing, view of the surrounding nature, chlorine-free pool, heated from early May to late October.

    Everything is together for your well-being and if the heart invites you to enjoy the Ayurvedic treatments of Basanti, massage, relaxation, and yoga classes of Jean Pierre.

    You will also enjoy the aromatics of the garden that smell good southern thyme, rosemary, sage, basil, verbena. Villa Rani is waiting for you for a quality stay.

Fabulous gite, spacious inside and well equipped with all the essentials, ceiling fans in main rooms which was fantastic. Great outside space for eating, and nice area for relaxing. Though pool is not directly attached to your gite, it’s solely yours when you’re there, sliding fence is a great touch to make it totally private to you. The covered area is great if you need shade. Jean Pierre is a great host, and usually around if you need anything. He also provided great info on local events. Definitely recommend.

Jean-Pierre et Basanti sont des hôtes charmants, à l'écoute et ont vraiment la volonté de faire passer un bon séjour.La villa correspond à la description et aux photos. Le tout est très propre et de qualité.Le coin piscine est à tomber!! Parfaite pour une famille de 4 personnes.La maison a été équipée de ventilateurs de plafond dans toutes les pièces et de stores bannes côté cuisine/salle à manger. Ce qui a été très apprécié en cette période de forte chaleur.Les gros plus en ce qui nous concerne sont: le calme, la nature et la vue.Les supermarchés ne sont pas très loin à Limoux ( une dizaine de minute en voiture).Je conseillerai cette adresse si des proches veulent aller dans la région de Carcassonne.

A wonderfully peaceful week at Villa Rani. The property is close to the small village of Donazac and is spacious and practical with the possibility of sunshine at any time of day. It is equipped with the main necessities. The swimming pool is lovely, private and sheltered and the owner attentive and responsive. To note that there are no nearby shops so supplies need to be bought in Limoux (about 20 minutes on minor roads by car) or elsewhere. Car essential. The tranquillity of the place is unequalled such as to be truly memorable

La maison est très propre, spacieuse et reposante, la zénitude y règne. En pleine nature, loin du tumulte touristique, tout est parfait pour se reposer et se ressourcer. Les hôtes Jean-Pierre et Basanti sont charmants, discrets et respectueux. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à la Villa Rani.

Goed

We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad in het huis. De gastheer en vrouw geven je veel privacy en als je hen nodig hebt, zijn ze er meteen om je te helpen. Het zwembad is zeker een pluspunt, maar ons jongste dochtertje van 2 jaar vond het net iets te fris. We hebben een fijne vakantie gehad in Donazac.

Calme et nature

La maison est située dans un environnement verdoyant et très calme. La maison est fonctionnelle et très zen. Merci à Jean-Pierre pour son accueil et sa gentillesse. Nous avons passé un séjour agréable et ressourçant.

Rural and peaceful

Very quiet and peaceful. More rural than expected, it is a 20 minute drive to shops on narrow but pretty roads. Practical points - more cutlery and crockery is needed and the lovely pool is the otherside of the owners property. We enjoyed our stay.

Séjour réposant au calme

Location très propre et bien aménagée. Piscine très agréable et à l'abri des regards .Conforme à la description et aux photos. Les hôtes sont vraiment très sympathiques, à l'écoute, de bons conseils pour les visites sans être envahissants. De nombreux sites de visite à proximité (Carcassonne, Espéraza,, rennes le Château, collioure) a faire pour les amoureux des sites naturels : les cascades du moulin de Ribaute. Fantastisch

Wir haben einen wunderbaren Urlaub in diesem Haus verbracht. Es hat all unsere Erwartungen mehr als erfüllt – genauso schön wie auf den Bildern und in der Beschreibung. Besonders gefallen hat uns der Blick über das kleine Dorf und der tolle Pool.Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es hat uns wirklich an nichts gefehlt! Einkaufen ist mit dem Auto in ca. 20 Minuten möglich, und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten – wie z. B. Carcassonne – sind gut erreichbar (ca. 45–60 Minuten).Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und kommen wieder!

L’hébergement est tout à fait conforme à l’annonce. La propreté est irréprochable. Le logement très spacieux et il y règne un calme absolu. Sa localisation permet d’accéder facilement à de nombreux sites de visite. La région est magnifique loin du tumulte touristique. Jean pierre et sa femme sont chaleureux, de très bons conseils. Vue la chaleur de cette été, la piscine a été salvatrice. L’hygiène de celle ci est impeccable. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, et remercions encore chaleureusement nos hôtes. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir

pure relaxation

We had a wonderful time in this very nice and clean house. Everything we needed for our three-week vacation was available so that we could fully concentrate on exploring the area. And it has a lot to offer. Caves and gorges, Cathar castles, vineyards, the sea... What more could you want? There's also a wonderful pool to cool off in the heat. Little oasis of calm

We had a highly enjoyable stay at Jean-Pierre and Basanti's place. They have almost singlehandedly created a little oasis of calm in the hills, right down to planting all the grass, trees, vegetables and plants on the property; as well as building both houses!It was more like being hosted by family than a commercial transaction. As well as being on-hand to make sure we had everything we needed, the hosts were incredibly tolerant and welcoming of our children wanting to run around, explore, and participate in their outdoor work.Other reviewers noted the pool is a short walk from the house. This is a definite plus with small children.We'd definitely stay agin.

Wonderful place for a real resting moment

Nous avons passe un tres agréable et reposant sejour dans la campagne de l aude.Nous avons particulirement apprecie l accueil et la disponibilite de nos hotes , l emplacement calme et magnifique ansuque que le choix des materiaux interieurs.La piscine privative est un vrai plus de relaxation pour les caudes journees.Nous recommandons vivement pour prndre du repos tout en découvrant de nombreux sites environnanrts.Les ameliorations possibkes ont ete communiquées directement aupres des proprietaires.Encore merci à eux.Bien cordialement

A real gem

Villa Rani is located in a beautiful and peaceful setting on the edge of a small village. It has a light and airy feel and is decorated, furnished and equipped to a very good standard. Having access to an immaculately maintained swimming pool is a further attraction. The garden around the villa has a natural feel and there are numerous places for sitting and outdoor eating. The friendly and helpful owner was there to welcome us on our arrival and, although ready to provide assistance if needed, left us to ourselves throughout our stay. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Villa Rani and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Belle region très calme

Une belle’propriété dans un endroit très calme nous aurions aimer toutefois savoir que les propriétaires n etaient pas presents car notre objectifs etait une semaine de bien etre avec massage et yoga - il n est pas précisé non,plus que la piscine n est chauffée qu a partir du1er juin au moment de la réservation nous aurions aime cette precision nous aurions choisi un autre endroit une impression d avoir ete piégé- pour le reste la structure est sympa

An idyllic and relaxing experience

We wanted a chilled, relaxed and lazy holiday in a beautiful environment at a spacious and comfortable villa, we got this and more. Jean Pierre and Basanti were the most welcoming and attentive of hosts. The location is superb, with views to the Pyrenees on a clear day and a large garden that encourages a wide range of amazing butterflies. The pool is well tended and has spacious new decking and furniture for relaxing. The villa is very comfortable, with all the amenities needed and stays cool when the weather is hot. Limoux is a short distance away by car, with a huge Leclerc for supplies and lots of affordable restaurants. We have been to France on holiday many times and this was the best, it ticked all the boxes and we will be returning. Thank you Jean Pierre and Basanti!

Delightful Eco Property

Amazing ecological bungalow in its own well laid out gardens. Very spacious, plenty of room to move around in, well planned out. Plenty of cupboard space with hangers. Useful kitchen with fridge, oven with electric hob., microwave electric kettle and toaster etc. We slept well waking up to glorious weather, with only one wet day in four weeks. There is a E.Leclerc supermarket in Limoux which sells just about everything, just a few miles away. Our favourite town was the medieval town of Mirepoix with it’s magnificent Church. The scenery and views are stunning all around the Midi Pyrenees. We enjoyed a lovely relaxing holiday. The owners are great, living nearby and offered us their attention if needed.Thank you Jean Pierre and Basanti. John and Shirley

un paradis dans la nature

que dire!!! meme pas une petite critique à formuler acceuil sympatique discrétion et disposition si besoin est le gite est en fait une villa de 100 m2 avec tout le confort une disposition des pièces parfaites ainsi que leur ameublement tout est très propre et une vue sans pareil sur la nature et ses animaux ( biche et lièvre) les plantations extérieures ont été pensées et disposées pour le plaisir des yeux une piscine grande et aménagée avec soin chauffée! la paix ,la tranquillité ,et la beauté du site font de la villa rani un endroit privilégié pour les séjours de vacances sans oublier les activités de yoga de jean pierre et les massages ayurvédiques de basanti pour l environnement magnifique petits villages et marchés à visiter ,canal du midi et sans oublier marcel un ami des hotes qui vous fournira à la demande légumes,poulets ,lapins,fromages donc une adresse à ne pas oublier sauf quand nous y sommes johnny et rénata de nice
