Fantastic property in an ideal location. A little well worn in places, but that is easy to forgive when you realise that the previous owners(Redcat independent pubs), had removed the entire kitchen and bar equipment without informing the new owner (Mick Heath), but still accepted a full compliment of bookings, without the new owners' knowledge. This only goes to show how committed the new owners are to making a success of the business. The planned refurbishment is extensive, and for the most part, has had to be put on hold until the end of the season, but important maintenance work is still progressing without disruption to the customers. Mick is quite open about the challenges that the family faces and their plans to reopen the restaurant and what they hope to achieve in the future. Currently, only breakfast (which has an extensive range of choices and is flexible) and light snacks in the evening, are available at present, but that will change in the near future. We were directed to various local bars and pubs, if a more extensive menu was required. The hotel was pretty much full over the period that we staý, and the atmosphere was excellent. I would highly recommend this as place to stay, which will only get better as the Heath family make improvements to their new, 4 week old business venture. The whole Heath family were welcoming, hardworking and entertaining, and we will be returning in the near future with luck. We'll done to Mick and the rest of the Heath family.
