"An unforgettable experience in the Douro Valley. The views from the property are simply stunning, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special — personalized touches throughout made it feel like far more than just a hotel stay. The chef's dinner was a true highlight, and the wine tasting experience was expertly guided. The only reason this isn't a full five stars is the more rural location means a bit more travel time to reach — but that's also part of what makes the Douro so peaceful and worth visiting. "Our stay at Octant Douro was easily the highlight of our trip to Portugal. We absolutely loved the hotel’s tranquil and picturesque setting along the Douro River. Our room overlooked the river, and we often found ourselves sitting in silence, simply taking in the breathtaking scenery and peaceful surroundings. The pool facilities were beautifully maintained and provided the perfect setting for relaxation. The restaurants were outstanding, and the breakfast was excellent, offering a delicious and varied selection each morning. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the exceptional staff. Everyone we encountered was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making our stay all the more memorable. Overall, we had an incredible experience and cannot recommend Octant Douro highly enough. We sincerely hope to return in the future and look forward to exploring some of Octant’s other properties throughout Portugal."
