This was a FABULOUS stop during our around the country tour of Ireland! I HIGHLY recommend using the deep tub and reading a book! The staff was over the top

As soon as we walked through the door, we knew we made the right choice. The restaurant/bar area was beautiful and cozy. The hotel staff was welcoming. Our room was nicely decorated, and the bay window view of the sea was gorgeous. I will stay at the Avoca any time that I return to Newcastle.

I have never been received so warmly at any hotel in my entire life of travels. I wish I could remember the young ladies name who checked us in. She was so helpful and went out of her way to receive us. She literally followed me out to the car to take our luggage in, she stored it until our room was ready and when we returned everything was in our room. She helped us pull our car out of the parking lot, went out side and waved us on. She helped us find a tour driver, who was equally...

It was so nice to have off street parking as cars were sometimes triple parked on the street. It was a very large and comfortable apartment in easy walking distance to a bus stop into the city and a grocery store. We enjoyed our stay.

Well communicated contactless check in, beautiful property and rooms, cute little town, and the breakfast was good! Coffee was great, Charlie makes a great flat white! Parking can be a little bit of a nuisance, and like many historical properties no elevator so if you need help with your luggage plan ahead as the property is not always staffed. Lovely. Also Forrest Park is not to far down the road if you would like a lovely walk around the lake. the Parson's Nose is quite good as a dinner option...

We toured the UK and this was the best hotel by far. I loved everything about it. Nice, small apartment with everything you need. Responsive on-site service. Very friendly and clean. I wish there were more of these all over the UK.

Everything was perfect. Cleanliness, amenities, comfort of the beds, hot water for the showers, spacious room and bathroom. I would definitely recommend Homestead Hilsborough guest house!

Nice gardens, peaceful, & walkable to Tollymore Forest.

Just a lovely spot, 5 minutes driving from town and the shore in Newcastle, 15 or so to some great hiking trails. Grounds are very nice and there’s a gentle climb down to the river, a beautiful spot on the patio to sit out for a drink or morning coffee — and the breakfast was excellent as well (I had to go for the Ulster Fry (similar to the Full English) both mornings. Clean room, the staff there are wonderful; they genuinely make me feel welcomed and at home, which means a lot to me.

Cozy and quiet. Near enough to everything that we could walk. EXCELLENT staff, all around, truly. Very pleasant breakfast served downstairs each morning. Highly recommend.
