"The experience at Oaklawn Inn was a lot better than expected. The room and the whole building were clean, organized, in good repair, and decorated beautifully. I was surprised by the number of books available on the numerous bookshelves. The area was quiet, which is important if you want to relax away from the noise of a big city. The best part of our stay was the discussions we had with the innkeeper. Stephanie is friendly, informative, cosmopolitan, and an excellent conversationalist. Both mornings, after enjoying an elaborate and tasty breakfast, we spent two hours (yes, two hours) discussing a large number of interesting topics. On the second day, we were lucky to have another guest participate, which made the experience even better. If you travel in the area, I think that staying at Oaklawn Inn might be your best choice!"

"House is well equipped with everything you need. Check in was smooth and we really enjoyed having big table in open kitchen & family room as well as the deck to hang out together as a family. We did try to contact owner several times during our stay to inquire about kayaks that are said to be available for you stay. It was one of the reasons we booked this location but we never got a response and there were no kayaks which was the only disappointment we encountered in missing time on the water on a long weekend with lovely weather. We did sit on the dock a lot and would rent the pontoon if we returned. Jake's was great we walked down to eat twice. "
