great little place to stay

Good sized comfortable room but it looked out onto a dirty flat roof and ugly chopped conifer trees. Very cheerful and helpful staff.

Good place to stay

Our room was brilliant, very spacious with large en suite and very clean. The cooked breakfast was excellent on the first morning but the second morning was a buffet where the food had been out a long time, tired and not hot. Putting out tiny bowls of granola and fruit was embarrassing as they were always empty and took a long time for someone to refill!

Nice bit it lacked warmth

Really lovely staff. Upgraded to bridal suite which was lovely but a broken window and no radiator that worked made the stay very cold.

Pleasant overnight stay.

Overall a pleasant overnight stay with breakfast included. Very welcoming, friendly & attentive reception. Had a single room (room 17), small but had everything I needed, clean. Very comfy bed, in fact had a really good night's sleep. Unfortunately shower cubicle dated, shower head needed de-scaling and the seal around cubicle was a bit grubby. There was a clean toilet brush but the holder it sat in was dirty, so these few avoidable issues let it down a little. Good buffet breakfast which was included in price. Overall very good value stay.

Staff were very friendly Room was good value for money nice clean linen and towels but the bathroom could have been cleaner- around the taps and hinge's of the toilet was grimy. Sink wasn’t clean Breakfast could be improved with small measures , another toaster- constant queue. Plain yoghurt and nice tinned fruit - grapefruit/ prunes If not providing pots of tea or coffee you need mugs not the very small cups which need filling every couple of minutes and a jug of milk on the table for tea/coffee You have a lovely patio and garden area but it looks very unloved.

Great stay at an excellent hotel

We stayed at the hotel for one night when visiting a relative. We arrived early but the lady on reception could not have been more helpful. She told us we could leave our bags with her and she would ensure they would be taken up to our room when it was ready. This excellent service followed us throughout our stay. The hotel is also a wedding and event venue and although they were busy setting up for two events that evening, one of the staff was made available to get us coffee before we went out. The young man who served us was very polite and pleasant, as were all the staff we came in contact with. The room was large and warm (it was -2 deg when we got back to the hotel) and as promised, our bags were in the room. The twin beds were comfortable and although we didn't do a 'four in a bed' check of the room, the sheets, duvet and pillows were all clean. It had a large en-suite with a proper bath and again, it was clean and there was no mould anywhere to be seen, something which I particularly hate and often seen in some of the bigger chains. Breakfast was the usual buffet type. The only thing that set it apart was the fact that you could choose what type of egg you wanted and it was cooked to order. Again, the young members of staff were very attentive and polite and nothing was too much trouble. So overall an excellent stay in a great hotel. We'll definitely use it again now we've found it!

We had two reservations at this property (in between travel from England to Ireland). First stay was fine. Hotel nice, but be advised the rooms are very small. Not sure what angle they took pics at, but they are deceiving. Our first stay the hotel was catering to a large tour bus group of mostly elderly individuals. After our first stay, we traveled to Ireland for a week and there my husband fell ill. Because of the very small nature of the hotel, and because there were many elderly individuals staying there on our first visit, we called (admittedly the day of) to cancel our reservation so as not to expose people to sickness (since there really is no place to social distance at the St. Andrews). We were charged the entire night stay anyway. I understand them having to recoup costs for a late cancellation...but it seems like in this case, for the protection of their customers, they may give us a little break. Nope. St Andrews is the poster child for the phrase 'no good deed goes unpunished'.

Tired and in need of some love

Out of the four rooms our party booked only two ended up being available, one couple were thankfully told six weeks before, the other only found out in the day when they rang to confirm a late check in. The hotel itself is very, very tired and in serious need of upgrading. Our room was very small with only a 1.5 bed not a double. The shower was little more than a trickle which was severely impacted by water being run elsewhere. Breakfast was more than disappointing; anemic sausages, limp bacon, no eggs, cheap bread. It served a purpose as a bed for the night after a wedding but I would have rather spent £40 more and starteyd at the Holiday Inn down the road.

Great base for exploring!

Lovely staff who couldn’t have been more helpful, especially when I left my glasses there and they promptly posted them back to me at no charge! Very comfortable room and we all slept well. Nice bar area and a nice town in general. Would recommend St Andrews as a base to do that. Oh, and very tasty breakfast!

Plenty of potential but .....

At check-in we went to 4 rooms before finding one with a king sized double as booked. The bath room had black mould in the bath sealant and the basin overflow was very dirty. The whole hotel lacked atmosphere. Breakfast was like being in a church being in a large high room. A bit of background music would have helped. That said, the staff were helpful and friendly and dud the best they could with what they had available to them.

My partner and I had provisionally booked a double room for last Saturday night, 5th August, and then we decided we would add the following night to our stay, at short notice. The Operations Director and his team at the desk were very kind, understanding and caring, and nothing seemed too much trouble for them to ensure we could stay the Sunday night in exceptional circumstances. Our room was spotlessly clean, as were the general areas of the hotel, and the staff very attentive. The location was just right for our visit to Worcester and the surrounding area. We will book again at the St Andrew's Hotel in Droitwich when we next visit the area, and highly recommend the hotel.
