About this property
Rustic cabin high in the mountains close to Yellowstone, Tetons and Jackson Hole
This is a one of a kind cabin. Secluded high up in the Rocky Mountains, but still close enough to Dubois (9 miles) to go enjoy the town. The cabin is beautifully built like no other. Cabin is close to Yellowstone Park, Teton Park, Jackson Hole and Dubois. Cabin took 3 years of custom work to finish. This is not your typical log cabin kit build. Cabin is completely done in barn wood from Wyoming and reclaimed materials. Two bedrooms with a full bathroom with a large walk in custom shower. Million dollar views of the valley and snow peaked mountains. Sit out on the large deck and enjoy the wild life. Moose, Elk, Mule Deer, Fox, Black Bear, Brown Bear, all frequent the area. This cabin is one of the highest in elevation in the state at 9000 feet. Recommended a 4x4 or AWD to get to it, but when dry a regular car will make it up there. Cabin is heated by a wood burning stove, which also provides a great atmosphere for sitting on the couch and enjoying the quiet serenity of the mountains. Cabin is equipped with pots, pans, plates, bowls and all cooking utensils. Also has a large grill for cooking, and full fridge for food storage. If you’re a fisherman/woman the fishing is 10 minutes from the cabin along with other great fishing holes in the area. Enjoy the stars like no other place in the country with almost zero light pollution. Cabin has two bedrooms, a large plush leather couch and leather recliner fit for sleeping along with five cots for extra people or kids. Cabin has a smooth WIFI system and also provides Uno, playing cards, Sequence, a fun family board game, and fishing poles for all guests including kids (will need to provide tackle). Once you’ve stayed here you’ll keep coming back.

This was a last minute decision to meet up with our family for a quick adventure. The cabin was great! We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our host was excellent. Communicating with us in a timely manner. The view was beautiful. We will definitely stay here again.
We thought the directions were great, the cabin was lovely, and the view was amazing! The owner, Cody, was very prompt with communication and information and made us feel at home to use anything in the cabin; very kind
This property is placed in a great location with amazing views. The property owner communicates extremely well and makes guests almost feel as if they are friends. I recommend to anyone who would like to stay in a great location with wonderful views in a beautiful cabin.
If you are looking for something unique, woodsy and close to wildlife this is it! The property and wildlife were awesome! Cody was also great to work with and always made sure we had everything we needed! We are definitely looking at a stay again!
This was a one of a kind cabin with breath taking views. Cody was a fonomonal host and really made us feel welcomed into his slice of paradise. Only regret is we didnt book it for a longer stay. Will definitely be returning for another stay in the future.
Cody is an excellent host- great communication and suggestions for activities in the area. The cabin was well stocked and extremely comfortable. Access truly requires 4 wheel drive.
From the location, to the scenery, to the cabin, every aspect was perfect. From coffee on the deck, overlooking the miles of mountains in view, to the coziness sitting on the couch in front of the fire, just everything made the week away from work the time to recharge we needed. Cody was the perfect host, always available for questions and tips to make the trip better
This place is magical and amazing! The views, the deck, the cabin…..everything was perfect. Cody is also amazing-he has a way of making you feel like you’re staying with family. We will be back for sure to spend more time. Just incredible! If you want a cabin in mts experience-Stay here-you won’t be disappointed
Very good communication with Cody, the owner, from start to finish. He had all the modern conveniences in the cabin and a plethora of ideas for activities near Dubois, but if your idea of relaxation is of disconnecting and enjoying the views and exploring the cabin property you’re in the right place!
I would highly recommend this property. While the road is a little bit of a drive, the views are well worth it. The cabin is an experience in itself. It is so unique and inviting. Cody was available to help with directions and any other questions we had. We only stayed one night, so we are already trying to make plans to stay for a longer time.
You want to talk about some of the most beautiful scenery. Looking off the balcony at the absolute stunning mountains all around you, well words can't describe the beauty of gods canvas. Our host was amazing and hearing the history of the cabin is beyond special. Would highly recommended if you are a rugged outdoor type or just want to unplug from the world this is the one for you.
Let me start by saying the property has the most amazing views. If you are looking for views, seclusion and privacy then this is the place for you. This cabin is literally on top of a mountain and to get to it the drive is a scenic one. This place has anything you would need. If you love to watch the sunrise from your bed and you don’t mind having no window covers then this is the place for you. I loved the sunrise but not the “rude” awaking the sun gave me as I like the dark for sleeping. Cody communicated very well with me and made sure we were doing okay.
This is a great property, with a very one of a kind cabin. The views were amazing, and the cabin was well equipped. We thought it was really cool how personal the cabin was to the owners, and how there are picture albums of the family and the build process. It looks like a lot of love went into this place! If I have to pick something to improve on, it would be that the downstairs bedroom has a light switch, but no overhead lighting. We couldn't figure out what that switch was for! The overhead lighting is in place and functional in every other room. Not a huge deal, there was a lamp in the downstairs room that worked fine. We would definitely stay again. Cody was great with communication and checked up on us to make sure we made it and were enjoying the property.
Cody’s rustic cabin was exactly the stay we needed, countless hours spent taking in the impossibly vast landscape and treated to nights of perfect sleep afforded by the absolute darkness and silence of the mountain. We slept in the upstairs bedroom and woke every morning to dawn shining through the large, open panes. My girlfriend was sure that sunrise was the inspiration for the Patagonia logo and I think she might’ve been right.
Cody was an excellent host, front-loading us with heaps of personalized information on the hiking, favorite fishing spots and even led us to our best meal of the trip; we took advantage of it all!
It was clear to us both that Cody wants his cabin to be a base camp for adventure, shocked to see just how much expedition gear was provided. You could literally provision a pack trip for 4+ people just by turning the front doorknob; packs, tents, sleeping bags, first aid and a camp cookset all provided. While we didn’t embark on a pack trip we did utilize a couple packs to make our way up to Lake Louise one day, brought along a couple fishing poles and a hammock for a perfect outing.
If you prefer these sort of amenities to a condo in Jackson Hole, this is your place, so glad my girlfriend knew how to search VRBO and came across this gem. There’s no telling if we will ever make it back but we still haven’t stopped talking about it 4 days after our return. Thanks Cody!
The view was worth every dime spent! Cabin was great, we made a fire and truly enjoyed ourselves. This will be our #1 place to stay the next time we’re in WY.
Cody was a great host, highly recommend.
A cabin high in the hills outside Dubois Wyoming. The view from the cabin invites one not to leave but we headed out each day to the Grand Tetons (over an hour away) only to return each evening for dinner on the deck and a long beautiful sunset. 4WD truly an aid to make it up the 8 switchback driveway. Directions off highway are tricky. Kitchen fully stocked with essential equipment. One bed each in two bedrooms but very comfortable cots if needed. Cody the owner very responsive
Great communication. Phenomenal views…really you can’t beat these views. Waking to the sunrise over the mountains is about as good as it gets. Every bit of the cabin has been thoughtfully designed and the decor is full of Dubois and WY history. Highly recommend.
Stayed for an overnight while in Cody. Great place to escape If you want to get off the grid and reconnect with nature. Wished we would have had time to stay longer and enjoy the cabin and scenery. Thanks again!
Great time really enjoyed our time at the cabin. Close proximity to union pass road supplied many hours of exploration. The tribute to Frank was very touching at the cabin. Enjoyed Bison on the grill daily. The view is second to none you have to experience it you can’t do it justice with words or pictures. Thank You Cody for the memories we will be back
WOW. This place was INCREDIBLE! So much beauty, history, and love in this place! Cody was an outstanding and hospitable host. Our family shared many laughs, meals, and memories. The beds were comfortable, there were extra cots for the kids (or for sleeping under the stars), plenty of blankets for chilly nights, and beautiful views from every angle. The drive up is NOT for the faint of heart, but it is well worth it. There were plenty of signs and if you follow Cody’s instructions, you won’t have any issue. We do recommend driving up during daylight. We used our minivan to get up and didn’t have any problems. There were plenty of activities nearby, and at the house. 10/10 would recommend, and we plan to stay again in the future!
