Spacious Hermantown Vacation Space! Rural feel close to town

Come enjoy our vacation rental! All new in 2017. We're in a great neighborhood - close to Duluth's Spirit Mountain skiing & biking, the retail district, and lots of things to do and see! The apartment has a large living room, huge deck, full kitchen, full bath, and two separate bedrooms.

This is the upper unit in the building. As such, this isn't an appropriate space for anyone with little kids that run around - as it would detract from the experience for the guests below.

This is a fantastic space in a safe neighborhood that is close to everything. Everything is renovated and in great condition in this apartment, vacation space.

It is an upper unit (with stairs). As such, it's not handicapped accessible.

You have access to the entire rental apartment - living room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, closet, and outdoor deck.

Our plowing service will clear the driveway if there is more than 2 inches of snow. You will be alerted prior to this happening and be asked to move your vehicle to the road during this time. In the case of extreme snowstorms, there may be delays. Our city street may not get plowed as fast. A snow shovel is provided for you to do any necessary shoveling from your door to your vehicle.

Great repeat stay

Great property that we hope to stay in again. Just the right balance of out of town while close to things to do. A great basecamp for our hiking/walking adventures in the Duluth area. Property was impeccably clean on arrival and provided a nice cozy space to relax and prepare lighter meals.

Woodsy Retreat

Perfect weekend getaway for the two of us. Great Kitchen with a wrap around deck for enjoyable morning coffee. Easy access to downtown Duluth (maybe 15 min). Easy drive to Sam's and Costco.

Winter bird watching trip

The house was very spacious and comfortable. The location was good to drive both west to the Sax-Zim bog to watch for owls wintering there, as well as driving to the north shore for hiking and snowshoeing.

Base camp

We needed a comfortable place to retreat to after sightseeing throughout our stay. This lovely residence fit that requirement perfectly! It is in a semi-rural setting, but close to restaurants and necessities. Thoroughly enjoyable!!

Bigger than expected

We were there to celebrate our daughter graduating from UMD. It was easy to find. Kelly was very responsive with questions i had. Space was bigger in person than it looked in the pictures. Water pressure was excellent! Comfortable couches! We'd stay again!

Hermantown Rental

We were very comfortable there. It felt like home. We are grateful that it was not far from downtown Duluth and the property manager was awesome. We would stay there again. We did hear the downstairs renter talking but he didn't talk long so that was nice. It worked out well.

Perfect home base for Duluth/North Shore adventure.

I came up to the Duluth area with my parents for a photography trip to Sax-Zim Bog and the North Shore and wanted accommodations that were conveniently located for travel in those directions. This house is in a spot close to I-35 and Hwy 53 and only minutes away from restaurants and grocery stores (important for our stay). The property was very clean, well stocked, and quite comfortable for the three of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there - so much better than staying in a hotel. All the important details about the property (wi-if, parking, trash collection, snow removal, etc.) were provided in a handy guidebook along with a ton of helpful info about the area. If we come up for another trip I would absolutely seek out this property again. Highly recommended!

Perfect!

Loved our stay here. It was super clean, peaceful, and everything we could have wanted in a weekend getaway. We came to visit our daughter who is a student at UMD. It was off the beaten path (a bit rural, but not far from anything), which is just what we were looking for. The setting was gorgeous with peak fall colors. Refreshing not only for us parents, but also my daughter to get a way for a few days from campus. It was simply ideal. Thanks!!!

Great place close to Duluth!

Stayed here for a weekend vacation in Duluth with my partner. It was definitely close enough to drive to Duluth and the surrounding area for lots of fun activities. The place was in a very quiet and peaceful area. Well kept and stocked enough for what we needed - we did not do any cooking on site. 2 surprises — the bottom step to get to the door is higher than normal and tripped us up. Would have loved a little warning sign or reflective sticker or something to alert to that. Also we were surprised to find small hotel sized amenities in the bathroom for the shower. Not horrible quality, but if we stayed longer than 2 nights we would not have had enough. Everything else was really great - we especially loved the high quality TP!

Beautiful Apartment and Setting

This property was super clean, which is the most important thing. Easy check-in. Very high quality furniture, appliances, bedding, and towels. Many personal touches and amenities, like a nook by the fireplace to hang your coat and hat. Some interesting books to read and puzzles were available. So glad for a non-Keurig coffee maker and nice to find coffee at the ready. The utensils and supplies you would need for cooking were there, and the kitchen was such a nice size, with room to move and a good layout. The bed would be approved by Goldilocks; not too hard, not too soft, just right! The owners' color choices for decor were lovely and restful, and we appreciated the notebook with clear check-out information, recommendations, etc. The views from the windows and deck were lovely - hermit thrushes and chickadees were abundant in the wildflowers nearby during the day. And we could see the stars at night as we had hoped. We thought it would be awesome to come back with friends who would stay in the bottom apartment, especially after construction on a nearby house has been completed. (I thought it was a bit noisy in the living room, but the bedrooms were quiet). I could hear the people under us at normal speaking volumes (we live in an apartment and headphones come in handy here). There was one window shade that didn't work. Overall, I would especially recommend the apartment for the quality and thoughtfulness of the interior and beauty of the exterior.

Nice break in Hermantown

We really enjoyed our stay at this Hermantown house . We stayed on 2nd floor, and everything was clean and comfortable. I like the neighborhood; it was nice to walk in the morning and evening with some birds and flowers. There was a pond nearby with a pair of trumpeter swans and their cygnets. We used the kitchen every day and it had what we needed to make our meals. Thank you!
