Great location near Kings Canyon National Park. Great food, small rooms, but it was fine for us.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Property is very close to the National Park which makes for easy access. Gena's restaurant was very good. We ate there 3 times and never disappointed. The lodges are very dated but make due for our family of 4. They do have separated shed style lodges which look newer. They have community laundry and kitchen for a small daily fee. All in all, I would stay again.
This was such a cute convenient place to stay before heading into King's Canyon the next morning. Bathroom/shower house communal, but very nicely maintained with 4 private shower stalls, 2 private toilet stalls, 2 sinks- never had to wait to use. Optional $11 kitchen/laundry room use very appreciated. Was great to be able to unload our cooler into the fridge/freezer to prep for our next day.
Don't forget to pre-register thru the email sent in advance- makes check-in much easier (I simply forgot). Coffee available for free in morning in Cafe- keep in mind you may need to be patient though, staff is busy running the restaurant, and it's not self-serve. Would absolutely stay here again!! Small cabins are so cute! Very comfortable, has a/c.
Staff, meals, parking, clean room, and location to Kings Canyon and Sequoia are all rated 5. The reason for the 4 is the size of the room and bathroom--very limited moving area or storage area. We knew this going in but wanted a close stay to the parks. Two adults each with a suitcase and overnight bag, we had to use the only chair and nightstand to hold suitcases. Very helpful improvements would be 1) in the open closet install shelf and hanging bar on the other--somewhere handy to put stuff. 2) bathroom had one shelf--add one or two above or below the existing shelf. 3) The upper bed would greatly benefit with a shelf on the wall or attached to the bedframe.
Parking was easy and secure. Plenty of bedding, pillows, linens and blankets. Coffee pot was ready to make coffee in the morning.
Staff was incredible, friendly, helpful and prompt. It was close to the park entrance which was very convenient.
We had such a great stay at Gena’s Sierra in! Staff is amazing and accommodating. I g highly recommend this place if you’re in the area! Beautiful views and great location. 10 out of 10!

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
ANTS!! There were ants everywhere including our bed. When we told housekeeping, they told us some of the other rooms were having the same issue. The blankets also smelled like mildew. There is no fridge or microwave in the room. They have a communal kitchen for an added fee. The somewhat of a silver lining is their cafe which was okay..a bit overpriced for what it was though. The staff in the restaurant were sweet. I unfortunately will not be returning.
The staff was good, it has kitchen, living room and bed room. However, it smell bad inside, no screen on bedroom window, the hot tub was not working, either too hot or fully cold, no water if set in the middle. Every furniture is pretty old. Will never stay 2nd time.
This place can be called "rustic." The room is tiny, but functional.
Clean, quiet, comfortable bed.
But the location is awesome! Just minutes from Kings Canyon. A longer drive to Sequoia. Surrounded by the foothills of the Sierras.
Gena is a delight, the restaurant is great.
The room was very nice and the bathrooms were super clean!

I didn't have to meet anyone which is a plus. It is a little expensive for what you get. Room was clean. Room is small. Don't expect luxury like vegas hotels. It served it's purpose for rest for the next day.
Excellent place to stay, very clean, place in like new condition very close to kings canyon and sequoia, very affordable and staff very friendly. I will definitely stay there again.😊👍
This stay is not worth the $200 dollars. The Hunters Lodge (the cabin/shed we rented) smelt so bad as soon as you opened the door, Behind the sliding doors of the bedroom where the washer/dryer are located, there was stuff stacked and super dirty. The type of place you didn’t want to touch or use anything. Did not feel safe staying here with my children. We arrived pretty late after driving all day and had the next closest place been available, we wouldn’t have stayed here at all. Highly don’t recommend.
