"We absolutely loved this place. The cabin itself is very cute and the setting is beautiful and relaxing. There are train tracks nearby and our young son absolutely LOVED watching the trains from the front window. After seeing the back area and the river itself I really wish I had brought my fishing gear. We will most definitely be back!"

"Base Camp Cabin #4 is an immaculate, very comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bath rental close to Mt. Shasta City. The neighborhood is super quiet, there is a nature walk across the street and it's only about a 5 minute drive to town. The cabin is charming, and well-stocked. We didn't end up cooking there, but the kitchen had pretty much all that you'd need to cook and there is a coffee maker and plenty of coffee (a must for me!). "We had a wonderful stay this Memorial Day Weekend. All was as advertised with gorgeous view of the swift running Sacramento River right next to our back deck. Erik was great though the process providing all info we needed for a stay our family will remember for years to come. Thank you Erik."

"We stayed here for my daughter’s birthday and ski trip weekend and loved it. Close enough to the ski park and right on the River, was beautiful! "Visited Mt. Shasta for the weekend and found the perfect spot to stay! This property was in the perfect location for everything we wanted to do! So close to downtown Mt. Shasta. Communication with the owner was great. Simple check in and out. Thank you for a great weekend!"

"Clean and spacious. Great atmosphere and property. The check in was easy and hassle free. Basecamp is in a great location. Close to food and shopping, and a very short drive to the Ski resort. We had a great time relaxing. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone."

"We loved the rustic charm of this old style cabin - knotty pine panelling, fish motive decorations, and all. And the deck over the river is wonderful. What a nice rive rushing sound at night. We'd like to come again some time."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay in McCloud! We visited for snowboarding and the cabin was so close to Mount Shasta! It was clean, cozy, and spacious and perfect for breakfast in the morning. The coffee maker was very convenient and we stored our lunch in the fridge! It was very tastefully decorated and the bed and couch were very comfortable. We had a restful stay!"

"Beautiful original features that were unique. The area is beautiful, but the town has a lot of abandoned buildings, and limited dining experiences. It looks like they are trying to revive the town with a beautiful mural and it is worth reviving! It is a beautiful location with a lot of history and a great vibe. Just unfortunate loss of businesses probably over the last 5 years. "

Cedar Lodge Motel

"We were moving up from San Diego to Portland and decided to break up the drive over a series of days to minimize the stress on ourselves and our cat. The Cedar Lake Lodge was a great spot to rest for the night. We arrived around 5pm and quickly checked in. I fell in love with the serenity of my surroundings and the overall ambience reminded me of the hotels/motels of my childhood. The fact that they still have actual keys for their doors instead of key cards was enough to get me excited. The room was extremely clean and despite there being two beds, it was spacious enough for three grown people to move around with ease. The staff was helpful when it came to finding a local restaurant to eat at (Penny's Diner is open 24 hours and their staff was awesome!)! Highly recommend this place if you are wanting peace and quiet and a trip down memory lane! "
