Space and comfort to match the great outdoors

This three story vacation home in the beautiful Endless Mountains is centrally located just 4 miles south of Dushore on what is locally known as 'Ringer Hill'. Part of the original 1850 homestead of Francis Xavier Lusch, this home is privately situated on 4 acres and within a short drive of World's End State park, Eagles Mere, the Loyalsock Trail(hiking to the 'Haystacks') and Rickett's Glen State park. The area boasts great fishing in the big and little Loyalsock Creeks and Hunters Lake & Lake Jean as well as some picturesque swimming holes, countless hiking trails, majestic vista views and just the simple beauty of nature which surrounds you everywhere you go. This is truly a great getaway meant for relaxing.

In this spacious home, you will find 5 large bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Four bedrooms & 2.5 baths are on the main and second floors and are available to groups of eight or less. Groups of over eight will also have automatic access to the bedroom & full bath in the basement. Access to the basement bedroom with a queen bed & bath can be made available to groups of eight or less by paying a fee of $50 (for the entirety of your stay). The first floor has a bedroom with a full-size bed and a half bath, and on the second floor there are 3 bedrooms and two full baths; a master bedroom (and bath) with a queen-size bed, another with a full-sized bed and one with two twins. Those three bedrooms are also furnished with comfortable futons for relaxing and extra sleeping space (2 doubles & 1 single). The main bathroom on the second floor is very spacious. Bed linens and towels are provided. To enjoy the outdoors and views there are 4 porches/decks. The rear porch is covered and is 25 feet in length at ground level. It's a great place to sit and relax while grilling dinner! From there you enter the home's mud room on the main floor. The front deck is also covered and is 46 feet in length. This deck can be accessed from both the living and dining rooms on the main floor & is furnished with an outdoor dining table & a number of comfortable chairs. The third outdoor space is a 10 foot open deck off the master bedroom on the 3rd floor. The living room, dining room, kitchen and mud room are all very large, which provides comfortable space for a large group. The kitchen is completely equipped with a gas range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and cooking utensils/dishware. Coffee and a variety of cooking spices are provided for your convenience. We also provide minimal complimentary paper products (napkins, paper towels & toilet paper) to start you off on your stay, but you should plan to buy/bring extra with you. The living room is furnished with large, comfortable, pillow-back sofas and a chair. The love seat and over sized chair recline for complete relaxation while reading or watching TV. There is Dish Satellite and Internet service with a flat screen TV & DVD player for evening entertainment. The master bedroom on the second level also has a TV and DVD player.
This home is perfect for accommodating a large group - up to 15 people. SMOKING and PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED! Anyone disregarding these rules will be asked to leave, AND will be charged a $200 cleaning fee. We ask that guests be courteous to the owners as well as other guests by abiding by these rules. Great Vacation Property

Kay and John do a wonderful job of offering a spacious and clean house that is totally ready for everyone to settle in and relax. It is well stocked with the basic essentials. It is a great vacation spot in a wonderful location in Sullivan County. After three years, we still enjoy the experience and plan to return.

Our vacation

The Lodge has lots of space - is clean and comfortable. The grandkids enjoyed bike riding and fishing. It’s close enough that we could spend time at both Worlds End and Rickets Glen State Parks. Absolutely beautiful area - peaceful and heals the soul. Highly recommend!

Girls’ Getaway

We had a wonderful time at John and Kay’s home! There was plenty of room for our group and we appreciated being able to have our own space. We enjoyed the peacefulness and are happy to have found this place! If we return to the area, we would love to stay here again! Thank you!

Great Couples Weekend

For the last two years we have been going to places for a couples weekend in the Fall. This house was great and we really enjoyed the thoughtful style to it. We toured four wineries on Saturday which were easily accessible from the house. We were also glad that we didn't have to checkout until 11:00 the next morning. The owners of the place were friendly and helpful which is always a plus.

Gets harder to leave after each stay.

This was the second time staying in this house and at the end of both stays, we find ourselves wanting to stay longer. If you enjoy being in a quiet secluded area, this is where you want to stay. The only negative from this stay was the water temp for showers was slightly cold, but that was because the temperature outside barely made it out of the teens. All in all, i think we are going to plan for a third stay in this house in the near future!

Wonderful, cozy house with all the comforts of home!

We just finished a 3-day stay at this property and would love to go back some time! I honestly can't think of one thing that we needed that they didn't have: games, books, plenty of cooking utensils and supplies, tons of space in rooms and bathrooms, and even decorated for the holidays! It had all of the comforts of home but much neater ;-). The beds were really comfortable and the house was nicely secluded. The owners were extremely responsive to any questions that we had. A great little trip for us!

Great Time by all

Had a wonderful time at John & Kay's place. Everything was clean and ready to go. The only thing that was a slight problem was the hot water. Never enough for everyone. Planning on going again next year. Plenty of room for everyone.

Perfect Family Getaway

We loved the lodge! It's so big and spacious. There was plenty of room for our family of 6. Everything we needed was supplied. All we had to bring was the food. We felt secluded but not too far away from town. It's close to Dushore where we went for some exercise and geocaching. The mountains are so pretty, even in the winter. Hope we can come back sometime. It was perfect!

Wonderful property!

We were staying in the area for my daughter's wedding at World's End State Park. We were a group of 7 adults and 9 children ages 1-14. We rented both homes on this road owned by the same owner. Both homes were very nice! The homes were very clean and well maintained. The bedrooms were ample size, especially in this home ...the bedrooms were huge. We had a wonderful trip and I would recommend this home to anyone!!

Host and Hostess with the mostest

John and Kay are the best! We have stayed at their property before and love it! This time I messed up my dates and arrived with friends only to find someone staying at the house. They were checking out the next day, but that left us with no place to go. After talking to John and Kay they were gracious enough to let us stay in another house for one night. We then moved to the house that I had booked. Kay went above and beyond to accommodate us. Thank you to the best host and hostess!

Autumn Family Weekend

My family stayed at the Lodge for a weekend to verify it will be suitable for our 2016 family week long reunion. Everything is more than suitable; the sizes of the rooms, the kitchenware, the furniture, the outdoor sitting. I could go on for a very long time. We will be back because the only thing wrong with our weekend was it was too short. We are an outdoor family and the location of the lodge is perfect; Ricketts Glen State Park, Worlds End Start Park, the haystacks are all close and when we get back to the Lodge, we will have the perfect place to enjoy the quiet while sitting on the porch waiting for the deer to visit. We're already looking forward to returning for a week in the summer.

Another Grand family reunion

We love this home away from home in the Pennsylvania Endless mountains. Everything is exactly as described; the kitchen is fully equipped and the outdoor seating is perfect. Every morning, we watched does and fawns in the field next to the house. John and Kay are very helpful and friendly hosts. The 220 House in Dushore is excellent and the Forksville General Store is a must do; breakfast and sandwiches are delicious and the town is so cute. Being an outdoor family, we visited the Haystacks, World's End State Park and Ricketts Glen State Park (2x). We also walked the country roads; very safe and most of the drivers waved as they drove by. The only issue; which isn't John or Kay's fault, is the local tourist newspaper has multiple errors regarding the local establishments. We advise you call the wineries and eating establishments prior to going. This was no big deal to us because there's always something to see on the drives; antiques stores, art galleries, scenic views, etc.
