"The hotel definitely deserves your attention. You get amazing views, 3 pools, private beach and good connections around the island. We had a car and parking was free and gated at night. Everything is clean, maybe not in perfect condition , which is fine as the island is not a luxury destination. The breakfast was basic but good, every day some items changed. We had dinner as well and we were all pleasantly surprised. You should pay attention to the building your room is as it can be in the old/heritage mâine area or the other two that are new and modern. "

"Janice was great. Very nice, patient and welcoming. She helped me set up the Wi-Fi and took me on a tour of the house upon arrival. The house was nice and the views was awesome. However, the location is a bit far for evrything and more than 19 minutes away as advertised. "

"I can't say enough about this property and would rate Malindi Villa with 6 stars if I could. The VRBO photos show exactly what you're getting: a unique, well-maintained villa with incredible views, gorgeous grounds, a large lovely pool and 3 air-conditioned bedrooms including a private suite with separate entrance on the lower level. It was perfect for our family of 5 adults. John (the owner) and his brother Neil (the caretaker) were concerned, responsive hosts. They even provided us a homemade rum cake as well as a bottle of Tobago rum, fresh fruit, milk, cheese, and other staples upon check in. The kitchen is well-stocked, so we prepared a few of our own meals but also took advantage of the chance to order breakfast and lunches (home cooked and delivered by a friendly local couple) and dined out at Cafe Havana at the Bacolet Beach Club (1 mile away) and at the Seahorse Restaurant at Black Rock Bay (a 20-minute drive). A rental car is essential as Malindi Villa is at the end of a residential road at Bacolet Point about 20 minutes from the airport. We took a few excursions during our weeklong stay to hike at Argyle Falls, visit Pigeon Point beach, and explore the nearby Fort King George in Scarborough - but mostly enjoyed lounging by the pool, relaxing with a book in the gazebo or on the veranda overlooking Bacolet Bay, and taking daily walks through the surrounding neighborhood and along the unoccupied beach close by at Minister Bay. "The apartment was not as listed. It was grubby and in serious need of updating. No instructions on how to use anything. No safety equipment such as a fire alarm, fire blanket etc. on arrival the WiFi and tv were not working and the cooker wasn’t. I contacted the owner who ignored me. I contacted vrbo who were responsive. We spent 4 days of our holiday waiting in for things to be fixed. On the 3rd day the cooker blew up and all the gas emptied out of the cylinder through the 4 hobs into the room. If we had been out and lit anything upon our return the whole place would have blown up. On contacting the owner he intimated we had caused the issues with the cooker, WiFi and tv, as there was nothing wrong with any of them prior to us arriving. We were then told by his staff that they reported to him 6 months previously that there was a manufacturing fault with the cooker and they had been recalled due to the danger. They also informed us that previous guests had complained. So the owner did not take any responsibility and in fact tried to blame us, lying to our faces in the process. There were also dead insects in every wall light fitting. Aircon unit in main bedroom was also broke and stopped large amounts of water all over the floor which again was a health and safety issue. "
