"The hotel room was beautiful bed was really comfortable. It was stylish and I could not fold it. It was a great breakfast and the staff at the front River very hospitable very friendly. It was just a short walk down to the city centre and an easy drive to get to the wineries and parking was no issue. Highly recommended to anyone going there."

"Our family of 10 adults had an incredible three-night stay at Sunset Farm—it was truly one of the highlights of our trip through the Cape. The farmhouse was massive, spotless, and beautifully maintained, with every bedroom having its own private bathroom. The staff even arranged the beds to perfectly suit our group. Paul, Katie, and the entire team were wonderful hosts. They were always friendly, helpful, and available when needed, while still giving us complete privacy. My young adult daughters especially enjoyed chatting with Katie and learning about life in Stellenbosch. Evenings around the pool, braai, and cozy fire were unforgettable, especially while watching the rugby and World Cup together. It was fantastic having the property to ourselves while knowing staff were on-site overnight. The location is ideal—just minutes from world-class wine estates, outdoor markets, and the breathtaking scenery of Stellenbosch. Having a SPAR nearby made it easy to stock up on food and drinks for our evenings. After weeks of travelling through the Cape, the affordable laundry service (wash, dry, press, and fold) was an absolute luxury and greatly appreciated. Some of our family also stayed in the villas, and everyone agreed this was one of the best accommodations of our South African holiday. We highly recommend Sunset Farm and can't wait to return!"

"Stayed for 2 ½ weeks in May ’26. Ilse and Adriaan were excellent hosts with extremely quick responses for questions and other needs. We have been staying annually in Stellenbosch for the past 12 years at different places as we have children and grandchildren living in Stellenbosch and need space for the grandchildren to stay with Nana and Poppy. This by far exceeded all others. The house was clean, well-organized, and all appliances in working order, something we have not always encountered in our stays at other homes. The kitchen had everything needed with plenty of dishware. The filtered water was such a nice touch. Linens were fresh/beds comfortable. House kid friendly for children 13, 11, 8 and 18 months with ample room in the different living areas for all to find their ‘own space’ when needed. Although not the season for the pool, the outside area had something for all ages of children and a wonderful braai area. Location very convenient and safe! We will definitely stay there again for our next visit."
