"The owners don't communicate. Place was not cleanwith lots of things broken, including, shower, toilet and taps and door and steps up to it. Mold all over. Smelt terrible. Not vaguely as described. Only stayed one night as too late to find anywhere else. Asked for discussion on refund. They will not respond. Was also impossible to get in touch with Expedia to try and sort out. "We had a lovely stay at The Penhelig Arms in a beautiful location. The food was good, even for gluten free. Excellent options all round. We couldn't fault the staff even if there weren't many on shift. However, the showers could have been better as water leaked out the door, (some re-sealant would have helped) and two of the window handles were either broken or we couldn't open the window. The fridge also wasn't cleaned. It did not look clean at all. One of the slabs was loose near the room and just need cementing down. The railway station was literally a 1 minute walk away. A beautiful line to travel on. Would I stay there again? Yes."

"Fabulous from start to finish! Warm welcome from owner despite being an extremely busy evening. Room was beautifully decorated. Tastefully Welsh 😊 We ate in the very well maintained, pretty garden and the food did not disappoint. Slept extremely well, good quality beds and bedding. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Fab find, will visit again when going to the lake."
