Two Sandals – A Boutique Hotel

"We had to walk up the hill with our luggage because the taxi driver would not go up it. We thought it would be a good location because it was close to the dock to go to St. John. It was just 6/10ths of a mile but the walk was horrible because most of the way there are no sidewalks. We bought food from Moe's for supper and a good BBQ place just down the hill. Moe's has a buffet by the pound. Breakfast was as advertised, but some reviews said it was excellent. I'd say it was average with fresh made scrambled eggs, a meat, canned juice, and coffee. No decaf coffee or tea. The room was clean. The bed was fine. Only A/C in the bedroom but you could open the door to the living room to cool it. We let it be hot in the bathroom. I'd say I made a mistake booking this place based on price, but also no amenities like a swimming pool or gym. It cost $339 a night. We stayed two nights. I should have stayed in the place we previously had and paid for two taxi rides to the dock to go to St. John. We would have saved $328 minus the cost of the taxi going round trip and two breakfast's at a restaurant. I don't eat breakfast, but my wife does. If you have a car, there is parking. I liked the bench outside of the room we had because of the view. No real view from anywhere you would sit inside our unit. Nice view for breakfast. So, my review is mostly about value and not anything bad about the place. I gave three stars. If the price was lower I would give four stars."

Fabulous 3-bedroom condo with AC in charming St Thomas

"Great 3 bedroom condo at Elysian Resort. 4 ladies stayed here and we loved every minute of it. 4 balconies, one was rooftop style so you can sunbathe. 4 bathrooms with showers which was perfect for us! Washer, dryer, dishwasher, small cooler/ice packs, and beach towels were all very convenient to have. Lots of stairs to the unit and also down to the beach but we appreciated this with the way we ate/drank on vacation. The Elysian resort has a clean pool, one average restaurant where we had breakfast and lunch, another more expensive restaurant we didn’t try, sandy beachfront, excursion booth, tennis courts, etc. I’m very thankful we didn’t stay at Margaritaville because the sargassum made their beach inaccessible and smelly (we did a sunset catamaran cruise that took off from that resort and we had to walk by their beach). About 30 mins from airport, 25 from Magens Bay, less than 10 mins from Red Hook and the ferry to St John (if you want pristine water and a beautiful clean beach check out Cinnamon on St John). Highly recommend making a reservation at Sunset Grille 5 minutes from the condo (expensive but amazing views on the beach and really delicious jerk steak!). Host was very nice and responsive before and during the trip. Would definitely stay here again."
Beachfront Villas at Crystal Cove

"Great room. Me and my wife had our own bathrooms. The grounds are nice. Ducks, chickens, and iguanas all around. The beach was nice — soft sand and turquoise water. We went in May, so not too crowded. Was able to set up beach loungers under shade trees. You can access the services, restaurants, and bars at the resort next door. We enjoyed our evenings out in Red Hook, 1 mile away. Cheap taxi each way. Rented a boat one day at Mojo and could walk there. "

"We had an incredible stay at One Beach Road. Julie was an amazing host from the start, communicating with us before the trip and providing great information about local beaches, restaurants, activities, and clear instructions for the house, which made everything stress-free.The property is even better than the photos. It was spotless, beautiful, and perfect for our group of 16, including teenagers. The separate apartment area for the teens worked out perfectly, and the property never felt crowded. It truly felt like our own private resort with plenty of places to relax, swim, kayak, snorkel, and enjoy the sunsets.The private lagoon was one of the highlights of the trip. The snorkeling was fantastic, and the house had plenty of snorkeling gear, kayaks, and water toys. We also loved the tropical wildlife around the property. Iguanas, beautiful birds, and even hermit crabs made the experience feel even more special.Sapphire Beach, restaurants, and water sports were within walking distance, and grocery stores were nearby. We cooked most days, and the kitchen had everything we needed for large meals.One of the highlights was having Chef Josh cook for us. He was absolutely amazing.Between the beautiful setting, incredible outdoor space, and thoughtful hosting from Julie, this was one of the best vacation rentals we’ve ever stayed in. We would absolutely return."
