"Overall good value for money. Plenty of car parking which we got for free as delay in gettinf our room ready otherwise £6. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Decent breakfast options. Crowded pool and pool a bit cold. Gym a bit small but has most equipment. Bathrooms need updating."

"Very pleasant welcome. Room clean but wardrobe disappointing and smell in bathroom otherwise nice room. Enjoyed a beer in the garden at night! Great breakfast! Bit disappointing when checking out as waited 5 minutes and no staff appeared! As we didn’t need to settle any bill I just left the key on the counter."

"Check-in was a little slow — the booking system seemed to be having an off day — but the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We were shown to our room, which was upstairs in the side building. We’d read other reviews mentioning these rooms run hot, and unfortunately that held true for us too. Thankfully there was a fan in the room, which we set up and it made a real difference. Aside from the heat, the room itself was excellent — really clean, well maintained, and everything in great condition, with plenty of hot water for both the shower and basin. One small niggle (echoed in other reviews too) is that the stairwell light runs on a push-button timer that’s set a bit too short. Overall though, a high-quality room, just a touch warm. We didn’t eat here in the evening, but we made good use of the excellent range of beers on offer — very welcome after a day out, and thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was the one letdown. It’s a continental spread — a carton of orange juice, a couple of boxes of cereal, an oat bar, and a small carton of milk in the fridge. Underwhelming enough that we walked across the road instead, where we had a brilliant breakfast. If the owner’s reading this, it might be worth either partnering with the place across the road and offering breakfast there for a small supplement, or scrapping the current offering altogether and just pointing guests in that direction. Would we stay again - yes absolutely!"

"Breakfast excellent but the meat at theSunday carvery wasn't covered by staff all the time and consequently blue bottle flies were walking over the roast beef which put you off. When said about it to the staff member she just smiled and gave a little laugh. Not the most suitable answer. Otherwise the stay was very good."

"This is the second time we stayed at the cottage and again we had a very relaxing stay. The cottage is very comfortable and clean and communication with owner Simon went smoothly, just like last time. We also (again) really enjoyed the beautiful countyryside where the cottage is located. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a nice, quiet and relaxing stay."

"The hotel is immaculate the style is very olde worlde and is like stepping back in time, if you like antiques and history this is definitely a spot to stay. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable I wot well both nights despite the heatwave at the time. The hosts are lovely the right level of attentive without being intrusive. All in all a gem in Maidstone."
