"Very good hotel at a reasonable price with friendly staff. Double room was small but OK. Not as plush as some but spotless, with a comfortable bed. The desk isn't manned 24/7 but there is a number to call if no one is there. Athough there is free parking this means parking on the street in zones where parking sign has an H and the hotel picks up the bill. In the end I didn't have too much difficulty finding a space. I stayed on a Saturday night and parking in many streets is free from 18.30 and all day Sunday. I would happily stay there again."

"We have previously stayed in a “Grand“ Hotel in a location that is beyond its glory days. This hotel has none of the feeling of decay that others have had. It was delightful and well maintained, still having a feeling of grandeur. It was truly a delightful surprise."

"Great service from the reception staff. The rooms were very clean and surprisingly large. It was nice to have the sea view. The only downside for us was the lack of parking nearby. It was very hit and miss on getting a spot near the hotel and with a disabled traveller in our group we needed this. If you don't mind the parking issue then this is a great value for money place to stay."

"I stayed one night in a double room on the second floor with partial sea view. It was a nice room which had a lovely view of the pier. Two armchairs in the window made my stay extra comfortable. The room was warm and cosy, and the bed was ok- not as comfy as mine though. Having a fridge was a bonus. The bathroom was pristine and the sheets were clean. Basic provisions were included- tea, coffee, milk and sugar plus soap and hand cream in the bathroom. The only downside was the unpleasant drains smell in the bathroom which I didn’t mention as I was only there for a short time. I didn’t use the lounge or bar but they did look inviting. Can’t comment on the breakfast as I didn’t partake. I couldn’t get on the WiFi that evening which was frustrating but I had greater success later that night. The lady on reception at check in was friendly and helpful. She said I could leave my case after checkout. The hotel is in a perfect location, on the seafront near the pier and close to the town centre amenities. I was worried after reading some of the reviews but my stay proved to be most enjoyable."
