"Getting in and out of the rooms using the Goki app was pretty easy, staff at reception were really nice and helpful. The only complaint I have is the kitchen smelled so bad it permeated throughout the entire area outside it. I stayed on the 4th floor so I can’t speak for the other floors, but there were food items still in the fridges left unmoved for days/weeks at a time (I stayed for 2 weeks) and it was clear it probably hasnt been thoroughly cleaned/checked in a while. "Property was very central to what we were doing. Pricing was quite high for the accommodation No hot water in the showers The rooftop bar was ok but the beer was warm and the pre mix soft drinks were flat."

"I shouldn't expect too much from any hostel, including the Espy. I found what appeared to be a cockroach in the room the first night In the hallway, I dispatched of a very large one. I didn't receive an email with instructions for self check-in. Fortunately, there was someone who contacted a staff person who provided us with the necessary information to get in the room. Shower was good, but the handles fell off. Hot water in the sink never really got hot. Nonetheless, we got by and enjoyed...

"My room was a 4 person room which was decent overall. The pillows were small and not sufficient. The rooms a/c barely worked and the room had a damp / wet smell and feel the whole time. This is the perfect location in town if you want a party as they have stuff going on every night. The location is perfect for anything you would wanna do in town and the price was right for sure. "

"The location is excellent, 5 mins walk to southern cross station, prefect for frequent regional travelling. Hostel is within free tram zone so easy to get the CBD by tram. Fairly clean and modern. Lift available to carry suitcases upstairs. Hard to fall asleep when the person moves on the top bunk bed and the whole bed moves. Better if the bed space can be more private. Overall experience is good and will stay again "
