My family had a wonderful stay at Thorneton Point Estate. The location is perfect, the property is beautiful, and the home is large and well appointed. We enjoyed the large pool, cookouts, crab feasts, and long walks. We recommend this property for large groups - the house is spacious and clean.
We had a family vacation with ages ranging 4-73. Everyone enjoyed the peace and quiet of the property and the layout of the home. The pool was enjoyed by all!
We stayed with our extended family for a week. The kids all had fun - between the game room, pool / sauna, crab pots, fire pit they were entertained constantly. We all had a blast cooking and relaxing!
I have to say that this was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. I Travel a lot And make sure to have a family vacation every summer and the summer we wanted to stay within driving distance. Thorton estate was a grand slam homer And far exceeded expectations. We literally did not leave the property for the entire time that we were there. Each day we swam in the pool, went paddle boarding/kayaking, sat around in the house, used the game room, played with the pool table, and made a fire pit at night. It was a wonderful family vacation in an extremely beautiful setting. Honestly, I cannot recommend it more and will definitely be coming back.
Magnificent, modern large, beautiful, lighting with windows and all sides extraordinary location on 5 acres at the end of a private peninsula. Game room with foosball pool, ping-pong, exercise room, and equipment for croquet. Large swimming pool, which we did not use given its winter. Adirondack chairs sit at the end of the property overlooking the water with a fire pit. Great fire pit just outside the kitchen with comfortable couches. Fabulous kitchen with two refrigerators. Owners extremely responsible, responsive and involved. Will return.
The setting is incredible. Everyday my friends and I would wake up and just be in awe. The house was beautiful, we had a private chef come in and make dinner and it was wonderful, we also had massages in the house and what a setting for that! The house is so great for everyone to have privacy and also there are spaces for us to be together. There were a few problems. I paid extra to heat the jacuzzi and it never got hot enough to use, there was a shower that never worked, the oven didn't work and some lights went on randomly in the middle of the night. The management was in contact with us and that was helpful. And also, none of these things changed the beautiful time I had with my friends in this home.
Beautiful house, lovely and well maintained expansive waterfront grounds between Easton and St. Michael’s. Very nicely stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds, super clean, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. Clear and concise directions for arriving and leaving with a phone number to call for issues. We so appreciated being able to bring our dogs. They loved romping on the grounds. Just a flat out wonderful house-if I could, I would rate it higher than 5 stars. Would highly, highly recommend.
The house and property were beautifully maintained. We had 3 generations and everyone was able to get quiet moments and yet be able to be all together. The dining table was well used with lunches/dinner/games.
Beautiful home and property on the Eastern Shore. Multiple areas for our family to gather and enjoy our reunion. Picturesque wrap around water views...an ideal setting. Hoping to have an opportunity to visit again. Thank you!
I have loved every minute of our stay. Matt and Gerry are wonderful and their home is just beautiful. I am so sad to leave but can’t wait to come back.
We had an amazing stay at Matt & Gerry’s beautiful, serene oasis. The house was out of a magazine! Beautiful and modern but cozy and comfy. It was a perfect combination! The property is gorgeous! Our dogs had a blast playing in the yard and swimming in the lake! We loved the hot tub and sauna and the game room was super fun! The hosts are warm and accommodating and super responsive. We will absolutely come back and look for their other properties for our upcoming stays!
We had a great time. The pool was a big hit and all the common areas in the house gave us plenty of room to spread out. The game room was super, also. A few things that would make it even greater: about half a dozen cockroaches and other bugs were found in the house; lack of instruction manuals for appliances and sauna; exterior doors very difficult to lack; comforter in bedroom 1 smelled like dogs. Matt was very helpful and responsive to questions
Pool dirty , trash not picked for 2 weeks , grass not cut . All of these things should be done before guests arrival .The house was very accommodating and we enjoyed all of the sitting spots in and out of the house . we also enjoyed the kayaks , bikes and work out room . Kitchen was great .I would suggest replacing the pillows in the first floor master suite as well as the comforter. We think the grass cutting man misunderstood us when we told him to not disturb the Malard eggs nest because after he left the eggs(7) were all gone
We could not have been happier with this property! My siblings and I took our parents away for my Mom's 87th Birthday. Her favorite place to be is on the Eastern Shore, so this trip was extra special for her. The home was immaculate and perfectly well stocked with everything we could have needed and/or wanted. We arrived to a beautiful arrangement of flowers and a wonderful freshly baked pie. Due to the season, we could not enjoy the pool, but we did take advantage of the sauna as well as the hot spa. We walked the lovely grounds and enjoyed just sitting near the dock. The beds/linens were welcoming and very comfortable. We were especially appreciative of the owners' attention to every detail and their communication which made for a perfect stay!
Amazing getaway from DC for myself, husband, new baby and dog. The location is gorgeous, right on the water and the house itself is so luxurious, windows with views everywhere you look. We spent mornings in the sauna followed by dips in the pool. Our dog was in heaven chasing the ball on the property and swimming in the bay. The owners thought of everything and the house was incredibly well stocked with everything we could need, especially in the beautiful kitchen. It’s about a 10 minute drive to cute St. Michael’s where we went to one day for shopping and lunch. We picked up some crabs while in town and great steaks to grill and sit outside by the propane fire pit out back. Lastly, Matt was so easy to work with and accommodating. We hope to be back soon with friends and family!
Amazing! I wanted a special place for my parents 50th anniversary and Thorneton Point was everything I hoped for. The house is gorgeous with views of the water from every room. The modern layout and furnishings made me feel like I was staying in. luxury resort. Our large-ish party of 12 felt very comfortable spread throughout the home. I loved that we could fit the whole family at one huge dining table ! The location is great, just a short trip into historic St Michales and Easton. We had a great time in the pool, on the kayaks/paddle board and playing pool in the game house. We were not ready to leave and can’t wait to come back next year! Thank you Gerry and Matt !
