The sunsets were spectacular! Felt like home. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. Just an FYI: Some of the window hardware was stripped and difficult closing the windows especially the right one where the round table is. The sliding door near the kitchen would also get stuck and hard to close. The fire detector was missing in the living/kitchen area.
A great location to enjoy Chappaquiddick. Easy access to a small beach at the end of the road and Wasque reservation about 3-4 minutes up the road. Also easy bike ride to a farm stand and to the ferry to Edgartown where you can easily walk to Stop&Shop. A great low-key, relaxing vacation.
We LOVED our time at this Chappy getaway! It was exactly what we needed and more! The home was comfortable with all the amenities (and more!) that you could need/want in a stay - especially a stay with a 7 year-old. The home was conveniently located, easily accessible and close to the bay which we visited every day. The sunsets were impeccable and the view was perfection. We will certainly be staying here again!Thank you!
Our stay was just what the doctor ordered! Beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Erica our host bent over backward to make our stay special. We'll be back again.
Serene getaway in an idyllic location! Our family spent a week at this property in mid-August and found it to be just right for everyone - our young kids loved all the toys, games and the trampoline, and the adults loved the great natural lighting (thanks to all those skylights) and the gorgeous views from upstairs and the balcony. It’s definitely a commitment to stay on Chappaquiddick instead of the main island (Chappy Ferry wait times were often between 25-60 mins and the ferry crew told us at one point during a period of high winds that if we crossed they might not be able to get us back that night and maybe not even the next day), so make sure you’re prepared for that. On the upside, staying on Chappy gives you easy access to gems like Wasque Point, Mytoi gardens Leland/East Beach, plus the lovely beach just a short walk down the road from the property. Erica was a great host - she even let us access the property early when our flight was rescheduled for an earlier time. Highly recommended!
This house was so beautiful- everything was thought of too. There were extra towels, plenty of pots, even a decent knife to cut with (you never find that in rental homes). The listing doesn’t do the view justice.
If you don’t know Chappaquiddick, make sure to bring all your groceries! The ferry back to Edgartown is long! So pack a cooler, and just prepare to enjoy the proximity to some of the most beautiful and least populated beaches.
The house was so well set up for kids (maybe not babies, bc of the stairs) but it was so perfect for our 3-4 year olds. And the outdoor shower really helped to keep the house sand free.
Erica was so responsive- you could really tel they wanted us to have a great time. And we had a FANTASTIC time. Can we book for next summer now?
We visited Martha's Vineyard for the African American Film Festival in August. The home fit our family/ friends comfortably and my son who is 2 enjoyed the trampoline very much. It is a very short walk to the beach which was heavenly. The photos do not do the home justice. The views are incredible. We enjoyed rainbows and sunsets from any of the three balcony/ patio spaces. Communication with the owners was seamless. One thing to note is that if you stay in this area you MUST have a car. No uber/ lyfts and the ferry lines can get long early morning and through the afternoon. Like up to a 1.5 hour wait. Also be sure to bring your food in with you from Stop & Shop (no delivery) or order beforehand from New England Country Mart which delivers to Chappy on Thursdays. Staying on Chappaquidick (Chappy) is worth it, but do a good amount of research beforehand to better understand getting on and off the island and to the other areas of MV. If you want a remote get away. This is definitely it. In all, this place is worth it.
