GREAT LOCATION
10 min walk to Martha's Vineyard's beautiful State Beach and 5 minute bike ride to Edgartown’s shops and restuarants! Bright sunny cottage, right off Beach RD, adjacent to the Island’s extensive bike path connecting you to the all of Martha's Vineyard's 5 towns and beaches. This location can’t be beat! Perfect for a couple’s easy week at the beach. You won’t be looking for parking, just stroll or bike to the beach in the morning. Miles of wooded trails with water view across the street for a morning walk or jog, then a quick rinse off in the outside shower.
GETTING AROUND
In the evening walk, bike or take the bus to either Oak Bluffs or Edgartown for dinner and nightlife. The bus stop is 50 feet from your front door and comes every 15 min in the summer. There is parking for two cars but many guests don’t even bring a car, you don’t really need one from this location. It's only a 15 minute bus ride from the Oak Bluffs ferry and the bus accommodates bikes.

Plenty of storage for luggage in huge closet/laundry room off the living room. Cottage is about 800 SQ'.
AMMENITIES
Beautiful pine floors and freshly tiled bathroom. Cable TV, New Blue Ray player, 32 inch flat screen TV and WIFI included. .
HISTORY
The cottage is part of a complex of buildings which once made up the historic Martha’s Vineyard COOP Dairy. This recently renovated cottage served as it's creamery building. The Martha’s Vineyard COOP Dairy was an operating dairy and milk bottling facility until the mid 1960's. During its hayday, all the island’s farmers brought thier milk to be processed and bottled here. The owners unit was the Dairy’s barn and is behind the cottage on the property.
We are year round residents and would be glad to help out with some tips to make your stay a memorable one.
Have a great summer!

HERE'S A FEW FUN THINGS GOIN' ON NEARBY
BIKING - Great location as a base camp for biking the island. Bring your own bike or easily rent one, bike rental shop is just a 10 minute walk toward town, they also will deliver.
FISHING - Just a 1/2 mile away the bend in the road beach offers some of the best surfcasting on the vineyard, head another 1/2 mile down the road and drop a line off big bridge, great spot for Stripers and Blues.
CLAMMING - Just a ten minute walk is Sengekontacket pond by far one of the very best clamming spots on the Island.
CRABBING - 5 minute walk toward the beach is a colvert where the salt pond rushes under the road. Great spot for catching crabs.
KITE SURFING - Well known for its great windsurfing, Sengekontacket pond is also quickly becoming known as one of the best places in the east coast for kite surfing. Vineyard native, Rob Douglas, earned the title of fastest kite sailor in the world & can be regularly found rippin' it up on Sengekontacket pond.
KAYAKING - On the far side of the State Beach, 10 min by bike, Kayaks can be rented by Island Spirit Kayak. They also offer great day and sunset tours island wide.
BRIDGE JUMPING - One mile down the road, nothing like Jumping off State Beach's big bridge! You'll regularly find kids and adults alike enjoying the 10' plunge into the cool waters of the Vineyard Sound on a hot summer day.
SNORKELING Nothing like the Caribbean, but the waters here are typically surprisingly clear. Floating around the rock jetties of either of the two bridges along State Beach you can ride the current in or out of Sengekontacket pond. Small fish, conch, starfish, crabs and the occasional Stripped Bass are your quarry. The free ride in the current is worth the effort. After 15 years living here this is still one of my favorites on a hot day!

My 2nd time staying here and I absolutely love it! I love that it is pet friendly and has a fenced in patio area. (the 3 br unit has a bigger yard with a grassy area- one side is “fenced” with thick vegetation.)Location is GREAT - about 1/2 mile walk to the beach, to beautiful sunsets, and into town. Right on the bike trail, bus route, and across the street from walking trails! Hosts were very responsive and even let me know when my bungalow was ready early for check in.Both times they left flowers, herbs, and berries from their garden. I told them I didn’t want to write a rave review because I’d hate for this gem to sell out before I can book again. And the only thing they left out was Mike’s performance schedule!
The property was easy distance to things we wanted to do. The hosts had little but very nice amenities to include some toiletries for the forgetful :-). There fresh flowers - nice touch. Met the host - very nice. In all we would return in the future.
What a wonderful place! We loved our stay in the old creamery. :) Great location. Right across the street from the bike trail and the Caroline Tuthill Preserve trails, both perfect for walking our dog. Plenty nearby for food, fun, and necessities. Helpful and very responsive hosts. Very clean! We did bring some of our own supplies due to some very sensitive skin in the family, but appreciated the provided Mrs Meyers products vs more chemical brands. Having the clothes washer/dryer is a huge plus! Great little fenced-in patio area with the outdoor shower (we didn't use the indoor shower once), grill, and fire pit to enjoy. The kitchen was so cute with the turquoise theme. The whole unit was very cozy and enjoyable. Even the waste barrels were easy to deal with, just right off the driveway. We may need their 3 br next time (so nobody is sleeping on the couch), but we will definitely stay at Mike and Sandy's again. Highly recommend!!
We loved the house. It was decorated so nicely. It had a lot of character and charm. I would take that any day over modern. The host was very nice and helpful! I loved how she had chairs and umbrellas for the beach! We loved outside shower! Great location! We biked everywhere!
A just right getaway cottage. Beach Road location was great. The outdoor shower was a dream.

Loved the cottage!
Very happy with this cottage; it was just as described. Very cozy, comfortable and fully equipped. Loved the private outdoor space with picnic table and bbq. Great location too! Very easy to get to beach; close to shopping and restaurants in Edgartown. Owners were very nice to deal with. Hope to return!
Perfect for my husband and me and our dog. Great location. Thought main road would be noisy and also unsafe for dog but traffic was white noise and fenced-in yard is secure and private. Could use a new mattress (and a larger bed) but otherwise terrific.
This home is a gem, a perfect landing spot while staying on island. The home itself is comfortable and tidy, and we were happy staying in on our one rainy day. The patio and outdoor shower are a huge plus, which our dog loved. We’ll definitely be back. Mike and Sandy were wonderful hosts, thank you!

Living in a dream
My boyfriend & I stayed in the cottage for my birthday weekend & it was an amazing location. The property is quiet, cozy & very inviting. The cottage is close to everything but tucked away enough to allow for privacy. The furnishings are very earthy & you just feel at home on while on vacation. We would stay here again & again ... We loved it.
My wife and I enjoyed a long weekend to celebrate a landmark anniversary, bringing our important dog which is such a part of our family. The home is so wonderful and just perfect to spend time together enjoying the Vineyard and being active, including biking to town and enjoying the fire pit in the evenings. Thank you so much and hope to stay again in the near future.
I enjoyed my stay I absolutely adore your gem of a house it is so beautiful so quiet and peaceful I have to say that outdoor shower I’m gonna miss when I come home thanks for being a great host. I hope to be back again

Sweet little cottage!
We planned a trip to the Vineyard in the off season (November). Really enjoyed our stay at this comfy little place on the outskirts of Edgartown. Excellent running on beautiful trails across the street and well situated to explore a multitude of beautiful windswept beaches. The cottage had everything we needed and was well appointed for cooking fresh farmers market finds. The owner is close by and available if needed. Thank you for a wonderful week!
We stayed here after our wedding on the Cape and it was perfect. Property was spacious, had everything we needed and was in walking distance (approximately 1 mile to downtown Edgartown). there were also a couple of restaurants in closer walking distance. It was nice to have beach chairs and a grill on site which were provided. We brought our car which was easy to park in the driveway, and also stowed bikes within the fenced in patio during our stay. Also short drive to Oak Bluffs very nice to have laundry on site and plenty of space for the dog.

Great Location!
Wonderful location near the beach, Sheriff's Meadow walking trails. The local transit bus passes by the driveway. Nice, cozy, clean, basic accomodations. I enjoyed sitting outside in early morning and evening listening to the birds. Outdoor shower looks nice and is closed off and private, but I didn't try it out. Great place for 2-3 people on a budget that will be spending most of their time experiencing the Vineyard outdoors! Quiet, neighborhood on the outskirts of town.

Charming, Comfortable & Clean Cottage!
My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a week (along with our dog) and were extremely pleased with the accommodations. We found it to be very comfortable and clean, and while the furnishings and appliances are simple, we felt that we had everything we needed for a wonderful week! We loved riding our bikes around the island (you can hop on the trail right across the street) as well as kicking back and relaxing in the adorable backyard. There is a grocery store & a liquor store in close proximity, both of which came in handy. We had some amazing dinners out, and fell in love with South Beach, as well as the Cape Poge Beach in Chappequiddick. All in all, it was a great vacation - we'd happily return!

Ok
Overall impression was ok. A bit rough around the edges and needs maintenance but met our needs. Bike trail & nature trail a plus. Keurig in kitchen a plus but rest of kitchen was ill equipped. 2 forks total, 1 good cutting knife. Bed was comfortable. AC in bedroom worked good. TV & internet good. Thank you.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Clean, but photos are misleading
While the property was clean and the check-in process was pretty seamless the pictures don't give the full context of the house. The house is right next to a very busy road. The bedroom is the closest room to the road and so very loud. The cottage has small windows and is not as light-filled as the pictures made it look. The décor was cozy and welcoming and pretty clean although a little bit musty. The bathroom and kitchen were well stocked, the outdoor shower nice, but the bed was pretty uncomfortable (very soft). We were able to walk to Edgartown along a separated bike path which was lovely. The hosts seem nice (we did not meet them in person but via online/text communications) and were as accommodating as they could be; although the pictures on the posting do seem to be a bit misleading. We ended up only stay 1/3 nights we had scheduled and switching accommodations.
