River view was beautiful. Fishing not good, lake & river was great for tubing & boating. Kitchen fully stocked, although needs an empty cabinet for food. Beds and couches were comfortable.

Fantastic Weekend Getaway

Had a phenomenal weekend celebrating my brothers engagement. House was plenty big enough to host 13 of us with a huge backyard and beds for everyone.Airconditioning worked very well too in what have otherwise been a very toasty few days. Would definitely stay here again

Family friendly stay!

This was place was wonderful for our 3 families with little children! It fit us very comfortably with toys, cribs, booster seats etc. we were able to spend almost all of our time at the house between the sandy beach, swing set, baby pool, fire pit. The surrounding area is very peaceful and would definitely return back!

Perfect location for family living between Indiana and Minnesota. View of the river was beautiful in the morning and sunset in the evening. Lots of space and amenities. Plenty of sleeping spaces.

Great stay

Great house for a family reunion. As other people have said in the other reviews be aware there is nowhere to put food that you bring or purchase. All the cabinets are taken up with the provided pots, pans and utensils.

Memorable College Friends Reunion

The property was as beautiful as the pictures show. Expansive windows to the porch allowed us to see the River all day. Two full size tables gave our group of 13 opportunity to have meal’s together and play games at night. The lawn was ideal for a “bags” tournament. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable. An easy sanding launch for a kayak/canoe. Communication with Elyse was top-notch. Very helpful, quick to response and really wanted our experience to be special. We are already planning a return next year. You wouldn’t be disappointed renting this place.

Family Trip

This property was exactly what you want out of a large family weekend getaway. Plenty of beds across the 6 bedrooms, a large stocked kitchen, 2 massive dining tables so everyone can eat together, and a huge yard to enjoy games of all types. The provided canoe & rowboat were a great complement to some of the PWC our group brought with to enjoy the waterfront. The river was very high for the weekend so the sandy shoreline was unusable but the dock is floating so functional no matter conditions when you come. Close enough to Edgerton for a grocery run or heading over to the lake, but far enough away and the property is so large, you forget there are even neighbors.Nights are quiet and the provided firepit area got used multiple times. 10/10 experience, will rent again if visiting the area in future years.

Great fall get away!

We all had such a wonderful time! We loved fishing and having smores around the campfire! So much to do outside with all the fun yard games for kids and adults! The kids enjoyed the swing set and and playhouse too! The kids loved the games and toys inside and no one could get enough of the fooseball table, ping pong and air hockey! The kitchen was stocked and there was plenty of space for all of us! We all had a fabulous and memorable time! Thank you!

Family Oasis: Endless Comfort & Views to Remember!

Our stay at this VRBO rental was nothing short of magical! With its expansive 7 bedrooms and 3 well-appointed bathrooms, the property comfortably accommodated our extended family, ensuring privacy and comfort for everyone. The open floor plan was a dream come true for our family gatherings, creating a seamless flow between the living, dining, and kitchen areas, and fostering an environment of togetherness and joy. But what truly set this property apart was the breathtaking view. Whether it was sipping morning coffee as the sunrise painted the sky or enjoying an evening meal as the stars came out to play, the panorama was a constant source of awe and wonder... especially the daily dose of ducks. Excellent Family Reunion Home!

This place is wonderful. A great size for an extended family get together. Great kitchen space and 2 tables that easily fit everyone. Space is very clean. Multiple washers/dryers and detergent. Only 1 bathtub (relevant if you have young kids) on the first floor. The river is so quiet and peaceful. Great firepit area and space for kids to run around and explore in the backyard/beach area. We will definitely be back! Not a complaint, just a note for planning purposes: You have to walk through the second floor queen bedroom to get to the second floor king bedroom. King bedroom has no separate entrance. Also basement bedroom has no door, it is open to the first floor via the stairs.

Great stay with lots to do!

We just returned from staying at this amazing property, and we had a wonderful time! Overall the property was great for our group of nearly 20. The areas of the home were very accommodating as indoor and outdoor spaces abound. There were plenty of bedrooms, with a full bath available on every floor. Most of the bedrooms are upstairs, and we were able to accommodate all attendees with ease. Upstairs, there was a strange setup of 2 bedrooms in that you had to go through one bedroom to get to the other. Those two share the 2nd flr full bath, so anyone on that floor that wanted to use the shower/bath needed go through the bedroom to get there or use the 1st floor bath. It worked out ok for us, but I could see it being awkward to go through someone’s bedroom to get to yours every night or morning if you’re an early riser. The temp in those two rooms was DECIDEDLY warmer than the rest of the home, even with ceiling fans & A/C. The basement got lots of use but note that the ceiling is VERY low in spots. We had several people bump their heads, and one person broke skin. It was great having the two fridges and two sets of washer/dryers in the home (bonus). The kitchen was fairly well-appointed. The appliances, dishes, were all great, but the drawback we found was that there was NO storage space for the food that we brought. Cabinets were stocked with dishware, so we wanted for nothing there, but we had to use the bay window, the kitchen island, the bench area downstairs, and a folding table we brought with us to store our food. The outdoor space was HUGE. The only issue we had was there were flies of biblical proportion in the patio area from early afternoon until dark. It was bothersome. Elyse and Jim had put up a nice pool for the kids as well as outdoor toys, which was a wonderful gesture. The firepit and unlimited firewood was awesome, and really added to the relaxation of the stay. We rented a boat through “Pontoons on the Move” per the owners’ rec, and they provided a great experience as well. The boat ride from the house to the lake is almost 30 minutes, with about half of it in No Wake Zones, so know that it takes some time to get to there. Neighbor (Chris) was an absolute delight as well. Elyse was super sweet, and lightning quick to respond to any text we sent and to answer any question that we posed. We very much enjoyed our stay at Jim and Elyse’s place and highly recommend you rent with them. You will not be disappointed!

Extended Family Christmas gathering

Property was well stocked, good location, great communication with hosts and generous with arrival time, and even decorated a bit for Christmas. We had had a variety of ages and family stages and found the bedroom sleeping arrangements a bit challenging, despite having enough beds. Some bedrooms were located though other rooms and made bathrooms difficult to access in the middle of the night without disturbing others. One of our family members wanted noted that they found several "stink bugs" in their room. All other spaces seemed clean and well cared for with plenty of towels and reasonable checkout list. Would stay again if we had different family situation for sleeping options.

Amazing cabin on the river!

The cabin is massive, with a beautiful wood burning fireplace and the dining room area faces a beautiful river. This place is so relaxing, clean, beautiful and the hosts are 10/10 all the time!

Family trip

Large home with plenty of room for my big family. Unfortunate that the river was so high so we couldn't rent a pontoon. Driveway was super steep so beware if you have a new driver. The host was warm and friendly. It was a hot weekend but all the rooms in the house were nice and cool. Close location to town which was very helpful. Beach area unavailable due to the river but we still fished and caught several catfish. A very nice home and we had a lovely family get together with my eight kids and three grandkids. The pool in the yard was a life saver for the smaller family members in our group.

We had plenty of space for family members to sleep and great dining space plus great basement games for kids to play. But there are some things you need to know: pictures of property showed a sandy beach but there is no beach area due to a retaining wall expanding the property at the river. The current is too strong to let children play in the river. We rented a pontoon boat from a company recommended by the owners but that company was 1.5 hours away and had no idea that the pontoon boat would not fit under the bridge that was between the boat launch and our rental property so we could not have a pontoon boat for our vacation. Also, no bedroom dressers, no closet in the main bedroom so storage was an issue for our week's stay. Be aware that the second floor bathroom is located between two bedrooms and is not accessible to the other bedrooms on that floor. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and quick to respond to questions.

Be sure to read this before you book your stay!

This house is NOT as described. Pictures need updating as things look more worn and not as pretty in person. CLEANLINESS: listing states the home is professionally cleaned; large toenail was found in kitchen and dirty bedding one beds. We spent hours washing the bedding, vacuuming, cleaning, disinfecting. COMFORT: Beds upstairs sunk in the middle/were uncomfortable, mattress covers thin/torn. One mattress was sitting on the floor. Some pillows had yellow stains. Air conditioner upstairs did not cool making it hard to sleep. SAFETY: Overloaded outlets and an extension cord hanging to connect the microwave to an outlet. Damp basement/possible mold in the shower down there. Baby cribs have worn mattresses. BROKEN ITEMS: Main bathroom had broken toilet seat and leaky faucet. Upstairs toilet ran for an extended period after flushing. Stove/oven did not work. COMMUNICATION: I checked with the host week before arriving to see if the beach was usable due to rain/flooding, the host told me that they do not flood there. The beach was underwater; I would have appreciated an honest answer. OVERALL: Outdoor toys are dirty; life vests should be replaced. Hostas were trimmed, thrown in a pile in landscaping. Not much of an arcade. The host did reply to our list of problems and said some things were fixed after we left, but home should be checked over before each stay. We were refunded a small amount, but it was not acceptable. For the price per night, there are many better options.
