Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
I highly do not recommend staying here. Pros: Decently located, about 15 minutes by bus to Royal Mile. Cons: In order to receive the check in instructions I had to contact VRBO support to have them contact the host. During our first day we were told that we could drop our luggage off at the location early before our 4pm check in. We followed the instructions, retrieved the lockbox key, and placed our luggage inside. Upon our return at 4pm, the key was gone. We immediately thought we were scammed and our stuff was stolen. I made attempts to contact the host on VRBO but due to service issues I wasn't able to see any follow up messages, I also was given two separate numbers to call the hosts directly, both failed to connect to anyone. I had to contact VRBO support who was then able to relay the message in my inbox that the cleaner was still inside of the building cleaning. We didn't enter the property until 4:20pm. The check in instructions also contained false or inaccurate information. It made reference to a thermostat to control the heater, but the property doesn't have one, instead it has multiple twist dial heaters that we elected to not use because they didn't look maintained and were worried about carbon monoxide poisoning. Killed a Spider in the bathtub that was bigger that a half-dollar, USD. Killed multiple little spiders.No laundry detergent is provided. No hot water in the property, except for one not original shower attachment. Blinds were broken.
