Beautiful flat in Edinburgh

Wonderful location. Clean and spacious. It fit our family of 6 quite comfortably. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Needs to be cleaned

The pictures don’t seem accurate and the place seemed dirty especially the kitchen - the fridge was dirty and the freezer had built up ice and smelled. The place smelled bad and so did the hallways. The stairs were unsafe and parts of the banister were broken. Hall light didn’t work, the shower had mold in it. TV didn’t work.

Central apartment

This apartment is central to Grassmarket and other areas. If you have any disability then the access is not good. The stairs are uneven and not good when carrying cases etc. If you are looking for a city break and don't mind a lot of noise from the street then it's good for you. There was a lot of noise from the flat above and the road outside which went on until about 5am. Also unfortunate for us they were digging up the road outside. The apartment is clean and spacious and has most facilities. We have no complaints about the apartment.

Some Good and Some Bad

Positives: it looks as depicted; the pull out couch is a nice extra sleeping area; it has been recently renovated; it is right off a main street so easy walking distance to many convenient stores and attractions Negatives: 1) upon arrival, the hot water and the washing machine didn't work, and we only had two days in town, and the owner responded unhelpfully that she was at a party so couldn't communicate with us... the next morning she offered to have our laundry done while we were out, which was helpful, and would have been even better had she offered that immediately when the problem arose. 2) the bedding was not clean on one of the beds. There was a huge urine stain that went through the comforter to the sheets. The rest of the place seemed clean, but that was gross. Things to be aware of: 1) The location is on a busy street, so it was noisy, so just be prepared for that. 2) It is located on the 3nd floor (stairs only) so be prepared for that if you have a lot of luggage (we had backpacks so it was fine). 3) assuming the washer works, be aware it is the smallest machine machine I've ever seen. Also, there is no dryer. There is a heated hanging rack in the bathroom, but don't expect to be able to do a lot of laundry, as the capacity of the drying rack is probably one or two very small loads of clothes.

One word. HORRENDOUS

I contacted the number on the booking and found the person to be quite hostile and rude. She did not send me the check in information so had to ring twice and email. On the original call she said we could check in at half 12 so we made arrangements. A few hours later she said no she would let us know when we could check in. This was a bit of a nuisance as had arranged taxis etc but we managed. On arrival to the property we got a shock. The front door covered in graffiti and the stairs up to the apartment were very dangerous at the top as the hand rail and bannister were broken it would have been very easy to fall to the bottom. On entering the apartment the hall light did not work. The kitchen was good. That was the only good I could say. The bathroom had no plug in the sink the shower door was hanging off. The bedroom was very very dirty. Bedding seemed visibly clean but didn’t investigate to deeply. The windows were very very dirty and opened very wide. Let’s hope no one falls out of them. The bathroom was also quite dirty. TV didn’t work contacted the manager no reply. Next morning tried to contact the manager again she did not reply or answer her phone. Finally got in touch with her at 6pm to express our disappointment and to explain I was going to complain to the company. She was again very rude and quite nasty to me on the phone despite me trying to reason with her about the standard of cleanliness. Overall not a good experience for my friends 60th birthday tri
