Edisto Deep Water - Dock and Boat Ramp - Recently Renovated - 40-acres

Welcome to Endless Views! This property offers more than a typical beach vacation - if you love nature you will love Endless Views! This is one of the few Edisto Island rentals with 40 acres of land and a deep water dock and boat ramp. The property is located on Little Edisto Island, which is part of Edisto Island, just 45 minutes south of Charleston, South Carolina.
Edisto is all about environmental conservation and Endless Views is in the middle of this protected wetlands environment, situated 2 miles out on the very end of a peninsula formed by Russell and Sand Creeks. This means that car and truck traffic noise are replaced by the calls of birds and dolphins breaking the water (yes we have lots of dolphins in the creeks!). You will also find it cooler than areas with paved surfaces. The house is raised on stilts and sits in an open setting with consistent sea breezes while still featuring modern conveniences that will make you feel right at home. We recently renovated everything including all new windows, front and back stairs, complete restoration of living room and painting inside and out, new hot tub controls, updated bedrooms and new food pantry. You will love the privacy of the house's three separate living areas or “pods. The main pod includes a common area with a modern kitchen and dining area that opens up to the water-facing porch and features a screened porch with a grill. You enjoy the great views while sipping a glass of coffee or ice tea! Flocks of seabirds and spectacular sunrises and sunsets fly over the miles of open water and marsh that start on your doorstep. The master suite pod has a king-size bed, full bathroom, a private screened porch, and laundry room. In the third pod you will find two bedrooms, one features a king-size bed and the other has two queen-sized beds. Your group will love the walk-in showers and screened porch and may want to use the two full sized mattresses that are stored if you need more flexible sleeping arrangements. Linens provided for bathing.

The dock will be the center of your water activities with lots of equipment at your disposal such as a “flip up” swim ladder, two single and one double kayaks, three crab traps and a minnow trap. Guests often have their happy hour on the dock while watching the dolphins swim buy or watching their rods baited with shrimp or minnows. The deep water dock (8' deep at the lowest of the low tides) is only a short walk along the marsh. Since it is a 32 foot private dock, you are welcome to use it as much as you would like and leave your beach chairs (or up to two boats) for the duration of your stay. Next to the dock is our boat ramp that can launch even larger boats, as well as a storage chest with life jackets for both adults and children.

After an exciting day of activities such as hanging out at the dock, exploring the waterways by kayak or walking the 40-acre property, guests like to sink into comfy sofas to enjoy reading a favorite novel or watching a favorite movie. You may want to cook local seafood and vegetables or take a break by serving delicious prepared foods from Flowers Seafood and Kings Market that are prepared in their own kitchens. Guests describe the kitchen at Endless View’s as a “cooks kitchen” because it features such things as a full-sized refrigerator, Jenn Air brand stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot with coffee, toaster with air-fryer, and many pots, pans and utensils. The dining table seats eight to ten guests and both the screened porch and open porch have tables that seat four. The kitchen island also has high-top chairs for hanging out. Other amenities include a large hot tub, washer/dryer, heating, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi.

The Property
Endless Views has a fascinating history, it was deeded as a Lord Proprietors Grant in 1710 to a plantation owner named Joseph Russell who received the land from the King of England. Since then there’s only been a handful of owners with the property passing between generations of the current owner’s family since 1961. Endless Views on Little Edisto is one of our two vacation houses on the 40-acre property, both houses are separated by a grove of trees and are well over a football field away, and we only rent the endless views when our friends and family are not staying there. When we are in town, we only interact with our guests unless requested and the property is so large we often forget that they are staying on the 40 acre property. Endless Views is two miles down Russell Creek Road -- a mile of paved road and then yet another mile on a private gravel road, where you come to the very end of the peninsula. You will then bare left and go down a long wooded driveway to the house. If you have a boat we recommend that you turn right at the sign that says “San Russ Point ”. To get to the dock from the house, it is a short walk or drive (if you have coolers or such) along the marsh. Take one of three kayaks from the dock and paddle down the creek or if you have a motorboat you can drive out to the ocean or Bohicket marina which has a fun bar/restaurant porch area. There is nothing but marsh and open water for 10 miles in front of the house, if you look to the left the view is of 3 miles of marsh and waterways that include the North Edisto which is part of the intercoastal waterway. To the right of the house is our private dock on deep water Russell Creek and past Russell Creek even more forest that provides roosts for wood storks and egrets. The tides deliver up to 8 feet of water every 12 hours to the area and sometimes make the marsh grass all but disappear under its flow. There is virtually no car noise and fewer people in the area results in more wildlife. If you have a dog, you can let them run on the property, or keep them in the fenced area connected to the water-facing porch. In the mornings walking around the property or down the mile gravel road offers great birdwatch as you will routinely see brown pelicans, wood storks, oystercatchers, great egrets, piping plovers (on sand flats), roseate spoonbills (late summer), herrins, hummingbirds, a multitude of birds in the forest, including hawks and bald eagles. Although we often visit the other wonderful sites on Edisto and the surrounding areas we find it hard to leave and always are glad to get back to the property.

The Dock:

Fish for bass, trout, flounder, whiting and even juvenile sharks. Set the crab traps with fish heads and then have boiled crabs for dinner. In the fall until generally late December, bait and throw a cast net to catch shrimp off the dock walkway. At low tide, our 32-foot floating boat dock has 8 feet of water under it so it's good for swimming, fishing or crabbing with our three supplied crab traps or you may want to help your kids catch crabs by pulling up a string with a piece of chicken and a weight. The dock is also a great platform for launching kayaks, swimming and sunbathing. The boat ramp is sufficient to launch even larger boats that can be left on the dock for the duration of your stay. You can wash your boat with a hose provided at the Endless Views rental house. From the dock you will often see dolphins travel up the creek fishing and playing, if you hang out on the dock or if you go out in one of the kayaks.

There are activities for everyone on Edisto Island. Including an excellent golf course on the Island, which will satisfy the most discriminating golfer (and a second golf course only 20 minutes from Edisto Island).

By car, you can explore Edisto Island's historic churches and plantations, state parks, and unique activities such as the Edisto Island Serpentarium alligator feeding (open April-October), Bingo Nights at the Lions Club (great for kids – summer only and go early), strawberry and vegetable picking at Kings Market (May to early July). Blueberry picking in late June. Edisto Beach State Park two locations or the 4,360-acre Botany Bay Plantation are all a short drive down Hwy. 174 (If you go to Botany Bay go at low tide!). We often enjoy a late morning or late afternoon at the beach and then eat at the picnic tables at the state park, or eat at McConkey's Jungle Shack (especially if in bathing suits)l We also like Whaley's Store which is the locals' favorite lunch spot. For seafood we often go to Flower's Seafood truck which on the way back to Endless Views. If we do not feel like cooking out we pick up Seafood to go at Flowers or prepared meals and fresh vegetables at Kings both are a short drive from Endless Views. Via motorboat, you can take a 20-30 minute trip to remote beaches such as Deveaux Bank and the north edisto both at the mouth of the Edisto River. Take advantage of local attractions including kayak tours, fishing guides, or even a shrimp boat charter. Further afield, explore the ACE Basin (wonderful plantation house with rocking chairs on the back porch just 15 minutes from Endless Views) , Cypress Gardens, Middleton Place and Magnolia Plantation, Donnelley Wildlife Management Area, and of course, the beautiful town of Charleston.

For inside entertainment, there is a flat-screen television (with basic Hulu Service, Chromecast and HDMI port. You will also find books and puzzles next to the dining area.

Sorry we are not set up and do not allow weddings or larger groups on the property.

Great, relaxing stay

Endless Views is perfect for a low country, relaxed vacation. It's also close enough to Charleston and Beaufort for experiencing all the best experiences in the area. The boys fished and crabbed form the pier, and we kayaked in the marsh at high tide and then enjoyed the hot tub. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Kudos to Michael as a super host!

Slice of Paradise

Fantastic week at an amazing property!! Our host couldn't have been more helpful. The location was absolutely beautiful and if you are looking for privacy, seclusion and peace while still being within 20 minutes of everything, this is the place to be. The private dock and boat ramp were a great bonus, making getting onto and off of the water very easy. We will definitely be staying again.

Endless Views

Our trip to Endless Views was 2 weeks ago, and I am still thinking about a return. What a special place, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. A place to truly unwind and explore. Michael, the owner, shared that the longer one is there, the more one notices. In just a week, we saw dolphins off the dock, crabs, fish, cormorants, herons, egrets, turtles, and more. A luscious landscape. We were grateful for the use of bikes and traps and kayaks, and Michael’s insider knowledge. Endless Views is a gem. Thank you!

Wonderful, quiet, unique property

Everything was lovely. There are thoughtful touches to make it easy to be there with a dog: a fenced area that connects the the deck, covers for the couches and lots of space to run. It was a thrill to see (and hear) the dolphins from the dock. There is another house on the property which was a surprise to us, but not a problem.

Endless Views and Great Memories

The location was perfect for our family. We enjoyed listening to and watching the wildlife. The sunsets and sunrises were incredible. The property is huge and private. It’s close to so many activities including the state park beach which was clean and easy to navigate. The house is very cool with decks connecting sleeping areas. Kids loved it. Clean and everything you need including plenty of kitchen amenities. We made ant least two meals a day and visited some local eateries for dinner. We did spot some dolphins as we were fishing off the dock. Lots of deer too. Perfect.

Get Ready to Slow Down

We had a wonderful weekend at Endless Views. The accommodations are old school Edisto, which we really appreciated, little to distract from the surroundings. Recommend bringing a boat if you have one, the private launch and dock were amazing and on a deep-water creek. Property was picturesque and peaceful, sunrise and sunset views every day! FYI - kitchen was only sparsely stocked - recommend bringing your own spices and special cookware if that's your thing.

Thanksgiving 2019

We had a wonderful time at Endless Views! The property is beautiful - sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. The owner goes above and beyond to provide amenities - crab traps, kayaks, life jackets, bikes, helmets, golf cart, hot tub, and great information about what to do and how to do it. The house is well equipped and comfortable. The beach is just a short ride away. There is so much to enjoy at this property. All in our group were sad to leave. We will definitely be back. Thank you Mike and Joe for an awesome trip.

A Gem Vacation Property

Our family had a fantastic week at Endless Views. We have stayed at a lot of VRBO properties and this was one of the best. It's very secluded and feels like you are at a retreat. We really enjoyed the privacy of the bedroom pods being seperated from the living area. It made getting up early for coffee and sunrise nice because you didn't have to wake anyone up doing it. The owners are in a beautiful house next door and they are very friendly and accommodating but leave you to your space. We never felt like we were intruding on their property, though you have to walk past their house to get to the beautiful, deep water dock. Our dog loved roaming the yard and marshes as well. We'd definitely recommend, and would come again.

Nothing else like it!

The views are unparalleled, and the property is truly unique. The private, deepwater dock and ramp made boating and fishing so much easier. We didn't mind the short drive to Edisto Beach, but with boat access to nearby sand bars and gorgeous views from the house, we only hit the beach once the entire week. The property itself is secluded, and our teenagers loved watching all the wildlife--lots of deer! The pod setup of this guesthouse was ideal for our families--love the extra privacy. Our host's beautiful home is close by, and his communication via text and responsiveness to our questions was prompt--Mike was super helpful and considerate of our privacy and needs during our stay. We hope to return to Endless Views again soon!

Week of total relaxation...

Our week at Endless Views on San Rus Point was an excellent place for us to recharge, we enjoyed the most beautiful sunrises over the marsh, walked the property, ran the two mile driveway with no traffic, enjoyed the thrill of the catch (and release only because we were afraid we would not catch enough for everyone to eat) off the dock during happy hour! Didn't get to utilize the kayaks as much as we thought we would but they were a great way to get a closer view of the dolphins which were seen each day in the creek, including a mom and her calf...Relished cooking in the fully stocked kitchen! One evening we had an amazing Low Country Boil with local shrimp and corn! Endless Views is definitely close enough to Charleston for a day trip, loved both Botany Bay and Edisto State Park beaches! Enjoyed meeting our host (and his very playful Swiss shepherd), Mike, who was very accommodating and is definitely knowledgeable of Edisto's highlights! Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven!

Relaxing week

It was a very nice week with our adult children. Beautiful view, very accommodating and attentive owner. We had a great time relaxing on the deck, fishing and kayaking. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is that the listing does not show/mention the large house that is close by on the property. That was a surprise to us as it was between the rental and the dock. It wasn’t a problem, just not what we expected. Also, we arrived a little after the 4 o’clock check in time after an 8 hour drive, and the cleaning person had just started. We waited outside until close to 6. Overall though, it was a beautiful, relaxing stay.

Perfect Vacation!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Endless Views on Edisto Island. Foremost, the property is stunning and the views are just that: endless. There is water everywhere! It's spacious, and our pups were able to run and play like dogs should. Mr. Joe couldn't have been kinder and more accommodating of our needs. We loved being away from everything yet 15 minutes or so away from the main area of Edisto Beach where the grocery store was. Part of our crew drove the boat from Charleston, so we fished and boated along with all of our other activities. We loved the "pod" concept of the house, and the weather was so nice, we were able to leave windows and doors open to enjoy the fresh air. We will most definitely return and look forward to seeing Joe and his pups again soon. Thank you so much!

A nice escape from the hustle and bustle of life

Breathtaking views can be scene from most of this house. An interesting layout with separate buildings for living and sleeping. It almost felt like camp! We traveled with our three boys, ages 7-11, and they couldn’t have loved it more. We experienced more wildlife here than we ever have anywhere. They caught a trout, mullet, hermit crabs and many blue crabs off the dock as well as some crazier marine life like shark and sting rays (all released of course). It’s a little bit of a walk to the dock so we were glad we brought the kids bikes (there were a couple adult bikes provided) so they could easily come and go from house to the dock. A few things we did in and around Edisto island were Botany Bay, serpentarium, drove to see the Angle oak tree on Johns island, and our favorite restaurant that we frequented multiple times was The Roxbury Mercantile. If you love nature and are looking for a rustic, quiet, getaway from busy life, this is it!

A Beautiful Vacation Destination

Thank you so much for sharing your vacation home with us during our May vacation. It was everything we had hoped for. It was quiet and peaceful and probably the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. The views were amazing. The deep water dock was perfect for our boat and many of our days were spent fishing and site seeing by boat.Your father was very hospitable and made our stay a pleasure. He was very informative about the area and so friendly. He made us feel right at home. We enjoyed exploring on the golf cart and relaxing in the jacuzzi most evenings. Our mornings would start with coffee on the deck, overlooking the beautiful marsh and our evenings would end in the jucuzzi, watching the full moon rise. We also found whelk shells and sanddolllars on a nearby beach. Thank you again for your hospitality. Your attention to even the smallest detail at your home made this vacation absolutely perfect. True island feel here at the perfectly named "Endless Views"

My family of 5 and 2 dogs were all so happy here in this rental. We usually stay down closer to town near the Sea Cow, so this was much more of the island vibe we have heard about but not yet experienced in our travel to Edisto over the years. We have a small fishing boat, so the dock was what we were after, but the use of the bicycles and golf cart, and the wide open yard for the dogs to romp around free from leashes was so wonderful. Minnows were plentiful in a nearby creek. The house itself was clean and spacious with wide entry stairs, a lovely hot tub, easy-to-control AC and heat (we used both during this stay), screened porches with Adirondack chairs for a good morning read, and a large front deck for outdoor time overlooking the marsh and Intercoastal Waterway. Mr. Low was so friendly, and made us feel OK about the only semi-negative thing I could say which is the fact that you have to drive right through his yard area to get to the rental house. We have already planned to return same time next year!

Nature Is The Star At “Endless Views”

“Endless Views” is situated on a stunning piece of property overlooking the marsh and Russell Creek. There is so much to love here. Birds, Dolphins, Lizards, Deer, Frogs and Armadillo abound. The dock is perfect for sitting, swimming, kayaking, crabbing and dolphin viewing. Amazing stargazing. Incredibly quiet and peaceful. We really were content to spend the majority of our stay on the property. The house layout is great, allowing for both privacy in the separated sleeping pods, and gathering space in the main house. The views are expansive and captivating . The house is showing signs of age and wear, but is quite comfortable. Kitchen is very well stocked. The only thing keeping house from a five star rating is the lack of cleanliness. The house needs a deep, thorough cleaning. Hopefully, the owner will address issue with the housekeeping crew. Despite the above issue, we would return to this secluded piece of paradise in a heartbeat.

Disconnecting .....

What a place to disconnect . But no worries "IF YOU HAVE TO BE ON YOUR CELL PHONE , TABLET , COMPUTER , IPAD or whatever the connection is there great. ( my daughter had to bring work with her for one day ). Hopefully if you are there you will disconnect for awhile . The place is amazing ! My family and friends have been here 2 years now and always looking forward to coming back again . There is something for everyone . Like shopping , going to the beach , going fishing , kayaking , riding a bicycle , or just reading a book on the deck or at the dock or going into Charleston , SC to visit there for the day , not far away . But its a great place to reconnect with family and friends . Everything is there that you need besides your food . Owner is always available or his ground person can help if you need anything but we never had to ask for anything ,all was there except the food you will need and that is not far away from home , you can go into Edisto to Food Lion or just stop at Kings Market and get things there . Kings Market has pre-made dinners if no one wants to cook .... LOL Its all good . We will be back again ... " What A Great Private Place To Stay !
