"We recently stayed at Estrellas de Gredos and were really disappointed. The place has stunning mountain views and a traditional curved ceiling, but a lot of things went wrong. The biggest issue was a broken sliding door that wouldn’t lock. When we told the staff, they showed up unannounced at 22:00 and just said it was safe to leave it unlocked, which didn't sit right with us. The inside felt cheap too. "One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. Large room, perfect for us and our daughter to share, with a huge stone terrace with sun loungers and table and chairs, looking directly at the mountains. Wonderful horse-riding close by and hiking directly from the parador. Delightful staff in the restaurant and fantastic regional food."

"The hostal is very comfortable & clean. We were welcomed by the gentlemen who staffs the hostal, he was very helpful & made us feel very welcome. The beds are very comfortable. We had a balcony with a lovely view of the mountains. I would recommend the hostal, we hope to make a return visit in the future."

"La villa es muy bonita y el sitio es increible. Pero le falta mucha calidad. Para el precio que tiene, uno se espera algo cerca del lujo, no una sartén con el mango roto (tuvimos que cocinar sin el mango), una toalla rota y un poco sucia, pelos largos por la cama, el internet no funcionaba, el dispensador de jabón de manos roto, telarañas en el techo…Si es una cosa no pasa nada, pero son demasiadas."

"After we booked, and paid for, a room the hotel sent us a message saying (in Spanish - which I was able to translate because of a basic knowledge of the language) that the hotel was closed because of water inundation. They followed up with a shorter message simply saying that the hotel was closed. So, we had to find another hotel at short notice. The hotel should not have been listed as available."

"The house was hard to find. It was nowhere near where shown on the map in Vrbo and the address we were given was completely wrong.Amenities: much maintenance needed:No working light over hob.In one shower, head does not attach to wall mounting; in the other, hose leaks so badly the flow is a dribble.Much chipped crockery.No microwave cookware.Grubby walls.Blunt kitchen knives.No plug in kitchen sink.Pool filthy.Unstable standard lamp (hazard).Broken lid on garbage bin.Many flies, no screens, flat battery in fly swat, no spray.Inadequate and poor quality supply of towels."

"Excellent location if you like hiking - the mountains and countryside were on the doorstep. Run by an enthusiastic and very genial ornithologist. Slight miscommunication on check in that cost us an extra €20 which was unforeseen and a little annoying but we were happy to pay it. Service from staff was exceptional and the food served in the bar was delicious. TV didn’t work in the bedroom and a fan would have been welcome as it was hot when we stayed. "
