The Expedia description was accurately presented. It's a perfect place to stay when visiting El Fuerte and hopping on/off El Chepe. If you need a quiet, clean, and comfortable place to spend the night, Mansion Serrano is your place.

Relaxing, charming hotel with an excellent bar.

This place was wonderful. Cerocahui is a small town, but the hotel is right off the center. The buildings are old and very charming, but have had upgrades to make them more comfortable. There are no TVs in the rooms, no internet in the rooms, and extremely limited cell service everywhere in town. Which is to say it’s an excellent place to disconnect and unwind. High-speed internet is available in the lobby, which was great for catching up on news, messages, emails, and sending out photos. Breakfast is included, and it was delicious. It included coffee, juice, fresh fruit, muffins and made-to-order eggs. Lunches and dinners are available. We had one dinner. Flavor-wise it was amazing, but the beef was over-cooked. The bar is wonderful. In addition to their own wines and the usual selection of Mexican beers, the bar keeps crafted some amazing cocktails, including traditional drinks and more regional cocktails with things like Sotol. If I were to stay again, I wouldn’t spring for the vineyard-front room. The vineyard itself is quite small and the view isn’t worth the extra cost. The other rooms open into a lovely courtyard, which is very lovely. My only criticism is that the hotel doesn’t take any cash. It seems to be a common theme among all the Balderrama hotels. It wasn’t so much of an issue here, as we could easily bill things to the room and pay with a single card transaction when we checked out.

The staff was not very welcoming or helpful. The internet did not work very well and not at all in the room. Some of the other guests decided to party at a table just outside my room and were very loud until late at night. In the morning there was a huge mess in front of my room.
