"Nice overnight stay with my partner. Room spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. A little soft for my liking but I did sleep well. Was very thankful for the fan and I’m used to sleeping with one at home. Delicious food…the steak and ale pie was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed the cooked breakfast before the long drive home. Would definitely recommend the Captain cook Inn and we would be more than happy to stay again. "

"Amazing stay..staff lovely and good breakfast.. the location was central to everywhere and views were fantastic. The pub gets very busy showing its popularity. The room was great very spacious with everything one needs. The bed was a little weird and felt uneven but didn't stop us sleeping after busy days exploring the area. If theres any criticism its having no plugs near the bed to plug phones or fan in but i would definitely stay here if visiting the area again..thank you to the staff for...

"Friendly staff good food hotel in the centre of the town"

"We had a lovely stay, the staff were friendly and would do anything they could to make or stay enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble. The meals were very good, great choice for breakfasts, lunch and evening meals. Our room was very clean, housekeeping provided every day. The only problem we had was with the stairs , two flights up and one down to our room, both elderly with mobility issues. We did discover after our arrival there is a ground floor room available, unfortunately it was occupied...

The atmosphere there was excellent and all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. "The Blacksmith Arms Inn is a beautiful estate with so much history and character. The owners and staff were all very friendly ready to share stories from long ago including hosting a luncheon for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip just 10 years ago. Fascinating conversations! The only con is exiting the grounds. The building is located on a curve and the street is boarded by tall shrubs. During the day it can be very dangerous exiting the parking lot. At night at least you on coming headlights....

"Good food dinner and breakfast. Tiny but good pub. Beautiful Nice location in heart of street. No parking except 15 min walk up hill with pita parking meters that don’t work beyond 12 hrs and won’t take us cards or numbers. Would not recommend for elderly. There are a few paths down to town - check sign by blue lobster. "
