Great set up. More than enough room for a single family, could easily fit 2 families, maybe 3. Well taken care of, clean, well stocked (much better than any home rentals we've been in to) - plenty of bedding, pillows, towels. Kitchen was really the best vacation rental kitchen I've seen - GOOD pots & pans, plenty of flatware, silverware, bakeware, towels, & extras like a crockpot. Excellent game/play room (our boys LOVED it) - TV, gaming system, several board games, & even a shuffle board! We all loved that there was lake/swimming access near by. You have access to the clubhouse & pool as well but we never made it there. Good drivable distance from lots of activities - less than an hour from Traverse City, Boyne City, & Mackinaw City to mention a few. Outside area was nice but we didn't really use it - well maintained porch and patio furniture - a fire pit area with plenty of seating. Personally loved that there is a recycling tub besides the trash can in the garage, also several drop off spots in Gaylord. The AC unit is a portable unit & took a few minutes to figure out but we really only needed it a couple nights before the weather cooled down. After that the house stayed nice & cool (follow the directions in the binder, it works great to keep it regulated in the warmer months). Communication can be a little delayed if you go through the site, but I never felt anything was urgent enough to bother the owner on their cell#. Great vacation rental overall! Absolutely recommend!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything was well kept and available. Our only issue were wifi issues and musty smell in house.

The house was the perfect size and everyone had room to spread out. It appears they have an old hot tub in a back storage room that causes the entire house to have a musty mildew smell. We were concerned with not having air conditioning but with the standing unit downstairs and fans upstairs it was fairly decently cool with outside temps in the 70s. We were disappointed we were unable to use the pool or gym amenities due to an unexpected large fee not listed on expedias site. Luckily the lake was close by and the kids enjoyed it. Kitchen was well stocked fridge needs new shelves on the door made it hard to keep organized but not a big deal. Fire pit was nice well stocked with wood. Water pressure was decent but the shower screams at you sometimes,we found that funny. Lots of stairs and not the best handrails for those who struggle. Kids enjoyed the game room and we were happy the table had enough chairs for our whole group. One person complained the upstairs queen bed was too hard but others were happy with their sleeping places. They provided plenty of towels and laundry pods. We think the dishwasher needs some love it looked very dirty and had a funky smell. Overall we had a good time but would probably choose a different place based on not having pool access, no air conditioning, and the odd smell in the house.
We were very happy with the property. The host was very helpfull and answered questions we had promptly. He was also very patient with me as I was a little confused about the pool clubhouse usage.
The house was a perfect size and layout for our family of 5. Kids loved going to the clubhouse pool! Property owner was great to book through and always communicated promptly back. Would love to come back again!
Our family couldn’t have been happier with this house! The location was so quiet and private. In fact, pretty much the only traffic we had during our stay was the mail truck each day. Everything we needed was already thought of accommodation wise and the host is extremely responsive. Would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to the area.
Dated furniture and beds were not that comfortable however enjoyed the spacious layout.

Great house, but plan on shoveling to get in the driveway
We arrived in the middle of a snow storm. We appreciated Matt allowing us to arrive early during the weather. We did not expect to have to shovel heavy snow to get into the property.
The property is very remote, several miles outside of Gaylord, but for us, that was part of the appeal. The rental offers plenty of room for a large family or group, with 5 beds (3 in the kids rooms), as well as a pull out sofa in the living room and a comfy sectional that could work as a bed in the huge rec room. Our son especially loved this area, with a big tv, video games and comfy seating. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials. And, the fire pit was so nice at night, surrounded by quiet woods.
Best of all, the area is an hour or so from Mackinaw City, Traverse City, Petoskey and not much further to Sleeping Bear Dunes.
All in all, it was a great up north experience. The host was super quick to respond to any questions we had. We would definately stay again.
This space was great for our needs! Always appreciate a pet-friendly property. The king bed downstairs was comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. They yard space is well maintained and great to spend time in. Having two living spaces and the big dining table was perfect for us as we were working remotely part of the time - the wifi was great the whole time we were there as well.
The hard surfaces in the home were very clean; however, the carpet and soft surfaces need a deep clean/refresh. Our socks/bottom of feet were very dirty when walking around on the carpeted areas and faint smell of dog throughout (which is to be expected to an extent but was more than we have encountered in other properties). The downstairs bathroom tub and sink drains need to be cleared out as well, both drained very slowly. Overall, was a fairly clean home but needs some TLC. We would definitely return if these were noted as being addressed.
The house is large and we loved the many rooms to accommodate our group and large table making it easy for 10 people to eat together. The location is convenient for hiking and other outdoor sports such as canoeing,, kayaking and rafting. The local beach was a little small - there was only one other family there and we barely had room but it was nice that it was close and accessible. Our only complaint was the coffee pot didn’t work - it took about 2 hours to brew a pot and with 8 adults we were a little cranky! We were a little far from town to run and get coffee each morning and there was no back up option like some rentals have. We would have brought our own if we had known.
We had a fantastic stay! The house had everything we needed and true to the description and pictures. It was very family friendly with a big table for everyone to eat at and the kids loved the game room! We aren’t skiers but we did enjoy winter walks, sledding down the hill on the side of the house, a winter bonfire, a sleigh ride at Cook Family Farm and lots of time at the pool.
We had great communication with Matt, who was very quick to respond with any questions we had.
We would love to go back!
My sister, her family and mine enjoyed this winter wonderland for four nights! We rented snowmobiles locally and even though there wasn’t much fresh powder, we still enjoyed the trails!
The house was warm and welcoming for the 7 of us! The kitchen was well equipped. If anything, the beds could have been more comfortable but I’m spoiled at home so they were probably just adequate!
Our family of 7, grandparents, parents & grandkids enjoyed swimming and skiing. The house was comfortable and well equipped for our 4 nights. Improvements would be a new dishwasher and a better mattress in the queen bedroom upstairs.
The house was perfect for our trip. The kids got to sled in the front yard., and enjoy the pool at the clubhouse. The home was well stocked. We also enjoyed snowboarding at Tree tops while we were there. It was a great family trip.
