"This is the second time I have stayed here, great deal. It is less than a minute from the monastery/main plaza of Guadalupe. Rooms are basic but not cramped, and amenities include fluffy towels, mini fridge, iron and ironing board, wall table perfect for laptop typing, hair dryer, soap etc, and both times I have had good views: town and mountains last June, and this time the monastery. "The hotel itself is fantastic with its patio garden, wonderful sun terrace and lovely rooms but the owners were away for our stay so we had no bar or restaurant, and the swimming pool was covered over.
We were let in and told we had to find our own food in the village which is harder than it sounds on a Sunday in Spain. We did find a little shop where we could buy some snacks and cans of drink for the afternoon and we were able to get an evening meal at the only bar which was open and serving later on but that's not the hassle which is welcome after a long day's travel.
