We had a great Thanksgiving at this little slice of Heaven! The property is stunning and the dogs loved running around and exploring the hiking trails. Can't wait to go back someday.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. We have been coming to this area every year, but it’s the first time we’ve stayed this far out from town, and we’re so glad we did. The property was a great space for the kids to explore and play outdoors 24/7. It was a true wilderness experience. We saw deer and rabbits almost every night. The house description is accurate with a few exceptions. There is no washer/dryer. We would’ve packed more undergarments if we knew that. Also, the cleanliness of the cabin could have been better. Corners of the living room had areas that haven’t been cleaned in awhile. We just avoided the spots. And we ended up rolling up a dirty rug and getting it out of the way. That said, my family and I agree we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place with us.

We recently stayed in this cabin to get away from remote work and to feel like we took a trip somewhere; all while practicing social distancing. Let me start off with a few positives of this property, the location of the property and the size of the property are absolutely amazing. You clearly are looking for a remote and unplugged trip otherwise you wouldn't have pulled this property up; you really don't need to leave the property. You have a running creek in both the front of the house and the back of the house; great for small children to play in with water shoes. You also have a pond that according to the listing and previous stayers have trout big enough to eat. We all fished, but we only caught 4 inch baby trout so I cannot attest to cook-able trout. This property has a great fire pit out back with nice lighting. Bring a sharpie or paint b/c the trend is to leave messages on the river rock that surrounds the fire pit. We painted several rocks and left them there. There are metal marshmallow sticks so no need to buy any unless you want to pick up the wooden ones which are carried in Ingles for $2.00. Really the cabin itself has all that you would need dish wise. They even have cookie sheets. The refrigerator is not a full size refrigerator so shop accordingly. The oven itself; also not a full size. The listing says there is a dishwasher and it does not. I rather enjoyed washing our dishes watching my family outside so it's not bad at all. There is no real AC, they do have a unit in the kitchen, but it doesn't really pump out anything.
The property is 100 years old and it's super quaint. I grew up in a very old and famous plantation home and know what it takes to clean and upkeep. The house was not thoroughly cleaned as described in the listing. There were socks and other remnants of other guests under the beds, there was trash in the bathroom, and there are cob webs everywhere. When I say everywhere, I do mean everywhere both inside and out. Most within cleaning reach. If you have a fear of spiders, this is not your property. A proper clean to me would be to sweep down the cobwebs with every guest stay. There are also rodents that came in through the fireplace at night and there are traps for them around. For the price, we would have expected the home to be cleaner and more frequent pest control. The windows and screens looked like they hadn't been swept in 100 years, truly. We loved our stay, but expected a tad more

The property is exactly what I sought: Privacy and solitude. For the second half of my stay, I was joined by my mother, aunt and a cousin. We had a wonderful time. The proximity to the Cohutta Wilderness and other national forest land is as good as it gets for anyone interested in exploring the area. It was nice to expose my guests to something they haven't ever really experienced. It's hard not to be romantic about wilderness.
