"Cottage was ok, some issues with bedroom radiator not working and water immersion heater over boiling if left on beyond an hour. The kitchen and bathroom are very dated and cooker not easy to use. The access via some uneven steps or from parking area is tricky for anyone with sight or mobility issues. Location is handy for Castlebay"

"Beautiful location and ideal for the ferry (when it's operating again). Rupert is a very welcoming and knowledgeable host with many useful tips. The breakfast and lounge area were excellent. Nearby Eriskay was delightful and the AM Politician bar/restaurant is well worth a visit with great food and very friendly staff."

"Very much enjoyed our 3 generations stay at Altabrug. Have visited family in South Uist for many years but never ventured down the Stoneybridge road. Bikes hired from Lochboisdale and delivered to the door helped us explore the area during some lovely weather. The cottage had large windows throughout which allowed us to enjoy the views and the wildlife. Our wee dog enjoyed the freedom around the cottage and loch."

"Really pleasant 3 night stay as part of a longer visit to the Uists. Single room with a view over the sea, albeit over the porch so also with a roof view! Breakfast was excellent and evening meals also - one of the best steaks I have ever had. Elaine was the perfect host throughout, happy to chat and provide recommendations for activities etc."
