"Such a lovely comfy hotel. Had the best stay here for a few days, the staff were so so lovely and helpful, writing things out in Chinese for us and being so helpful with any questions we had. The room is comfortable and clean and the courtyard is so beautiful. Just a 5 minute walk to the South Gate in the ancient city of Dali so the perfect location and all at such an amazing price! Highly recommend! "

"Although a bit rustic and somewhat hard to find, it is superbly situated inside the South Gate of Ancient Dali and a great value. It is very clean and comfortable, has what I would consider some Japanese touches, and where else can you sit in a modern bathtub gazing out the windows at the Himalayan foothills?"

"Stunning location in the middle of arable farmland. Very helpful owner who organised for us to be picked up in the old town centre and then personally drove us into the old town in the evening. The rooms were beautiful and clean but perhaps could have been aired a little more prior to our stay (perhaps leave doors open on nice days when no-one is staying). It was also confusing as on Hotels.com the hotel showed up as a Dali location and we booked a train to Dali, only to find out it is...

"First, address is inaccurate. If you book, please call or find a way to get the correct address because the district is missing, and that is very important to have in all China, otherwise no one knows where it is, and that area has thousands of other Inn´s spread in small streets. It´s a 3 story house turned into a guesthouse? Rooms are pretty, but not very functional. Bathroom shower flooded the entire bathroom, toilet seat broke just by touching it, strange water and ticking noises all night....

"The hotel is set in an ancient dwelling built around a courtyard. While our room retained its original ancient nature, it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom, on the other hand, was modern and there was no lacking hot water. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet side street in the middle of the ancient city just off of the major pedestrian street of Remin Road with its many eateries, shops and bars. For folks not familiar with the ancient city, the hotel may be a challenge to find. But not to worry, the hotel staff will work with you to find your destination. My wife and I highly recommend this place."
