Breakfast simply superb, this is a quite extraordinary place to unwind and totally decompress from the real world. Wonderfully convenient for beaches and the Picos. Ample parking on site, lovely gardens and terrasse with chairs, tables and loungers. Ssssh! Don’t tell anyone!"

"We stayed for 9 nights at Casa Nel. Nel contacted us before we arrived with details for access by phone. The house is remote, and we had some GPS blips finding it, but in the end, it was easy enough. The house is a two-storey hand-crafted building, possibly a converted barn. It is fitted out with modern appliances, but in a sympathetic way to the building's form. There is a first-floor sitting room with wide aspect windows of the Picos. It is like being in a tree house sitting there watching the weather and the mountain. Outside, there is a well-planted mature garden around a lawn, and there is a large covered area with a BBQ, seating, table, and chairs, and outdoor washing and laundry facilities. It is very private."

"This is an excellent property in the Picos de Europa park. The best reason to book this hotel are the hot springs. You get one 40 minute session per night which is very relaxing after a day of hiking. These are natural hot springs flowing from the outside, with many different water massage areas, as well as a sauna, steam room, onsen, whirlpool and cold rinsing pool. They also have along outdoor pool if you want to swim. The second reason is the location. You are between Fuente De and Poncebos. There is no better location to reach each of these in 1 hour, plus Potes, Sotres and Bulnes. Covadonga lakes are another 30 min, but beware private cars cannot go to Covadonga. You need to leave your car at a parking lot and they have taxis to take you the rest of the way. Besides location and hot springs, the hotel is very good, comfortable bed, excellent staff and great breakfast. They don’t have a coffee/tea kettle in the room. You need to buy that at the bar, but the waiter brought it all the way to my room. I would only say that they need to completely renovate the bathrooms, they are very old"
