Our family, from 8 months old to 83 years old all had a wonderful time..big areas for us all and lots of little places as well. loved the deer and turkeys and nearness to town yet feeling of nature and privacy
Easy to get to! We had our daughters wedding here too! Very spacious and accommodating for all of our guests! We definitely recommend and will be back to stay here!
Everything about our stay was positive. The setting was ideal for a wide variety of ages to visit with one another; many options for sitting inside and out, kids playing foosball or putting on a skit on the outdoor “stage”. Kitchen is fully stocked and lots of options for dining inside or out. The close proximity to grocery store, restaurants, hiking trails, Mary’s Lake beach, and RMNP was ideal; we could avoid the crowds in town.
We stayed as a family for my daughters wedding. We had plenty of room for everyone in our group. A small store is located a short walk away and the main street is just up the road.
I found Rocky Creek Lodge on VRBO several years ago before my (now husband) and I were even engaged. I always thought it would be an amazing spot for a small wedding, and I'm so happy that it ended up being available for our wedding! The houses are well-stocked, were super clean upon arrival, and just a stunning location. We hope to come back in the future for anniversaries and family get-togethers for years to come! Thanks for your awesome communication, Jesse.
This property was the perfect spot for our daughter’s wedding celebration. We had 25 family member stay at the property and the three separate units accommodated everyone comfortably. The back patio was just right for a small reception . The house is well equipped with all the appliances, serving dishes and cookware necessary to entertain a large group. Our host, Jesse was very responsive and accommodating. As an added bonus we were visited by deer, elk and a bobcat.
We had a lovely visit to Estes Park with extended family from several states. The outside area was great for meals and conversations and we really enjoyed our time together. The reason for 4 stars is that the cabins need maintenence and a deep cleaning. The bedding was also not very comfortable. The pillows need to be replaced and the sheets are too small.
Wonderful 60th Anniversary/Family Reunion at Rocky Creek
We had 20 adults & 3 very young children at Rocky Creek for 3 nights. The accommodations for that size reunion were great. We rented the lodge and the other 2 cabins. The property was very clean and had many amenities. They accommodated the 2 babies with highchairs & pack-n-plays. Other than being near an RV park the location was beautiful (it was just the visual that was not so nice - it was definitely not noisy). It was great that all adults had bedrooms with private baths! The Host was very nice and easy to work with. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it.
We were a group of 19 so were very pleased to find Rocky Creek. We used all three cabins but found that we gravitated to the largest cabin. It was impressive to see how well the cabins were stocked with essentials, including paper towels, toilet paper, pots and pans, utensils, even spices. We were lucky to have a good snowfall during our November stay which led to snowball fights and sledding. Our primary comment to the owner is to consider making the Haven's entry a "mud room". With 19 people and their heavy coats, boots, hats and gloves, it would be very convenient to have coat hooks and pans to put wet boots on. All in all, our stay was very enjoyable and we hope to stay again.
Photographs and description misrepresent the property
The buildings were clean and the kitchens well-stocked with plates and cookware. The photographs and the descriptions of the rooms are misleading. The description of the property suggests a spacious 3-cabin space for a large group with sleeping accommodations for 34. At least two rooms, the sunroom and the tv room, are not separate spaces but part of the common areas. We booked with the previous owner of this property with the confirmation that there would be enough room for our entire group. One week before our stay we were told of the changed ownership of the property but were assured that the changes to the sleeping arrangements would still accommodate our large family group. When we arrived we discovered the property would not comfortably accommodate our party of 25 adults. We scrambled and five of our party made last-minute arrangements to stay at a local motel and cabin. The new owner offered a second property after other arrangement had been made, but this defeated the purpose of having our family together in one location. We asked for a partial refund given the misrepresentation of the property's capacity. The new owner declined a partial refund and has stopped communicating with us. Lastly, the photographs do not show the RV park which is the view from the back deck. This alone would have deterred us from choosing Rocky Creek Lodge.
We had a party of 26. Fourteen adults, 6 teens & 20s, & 6 under 5. All related, but many had not only never seen the small ones,& also had not seen each other in years. The 4 separate cabins made it very comfortable for families to also have some privacy. In the main Haven cabin, I would recommend closing off the bed in the dining room & also closing off the room with the TV with walls. No one wanted to stay in either place. The outside areas around the Haven were where we all seemed to congregate after our various daytime activities.
