"We really enjoyed staying here. A staging post on a longer journey from the UK to central France, the owner very kindly welcomed us despite the very unsociable hour,.thanks to a Le Shuttle delay. A warm welcome, and an excellent sense of humour, made for a comfortable stay. The coffee was delicious, as was the fresh bread over breakfast. Thank you!"

"Chance au Roy is situated in the countryside outside Aigneville. The accommodation is part of an estate, the owners living in a chateau the accommodation is in the grounds. It’s a beautiful setting but in need of some restoration. When we arrived we had a lovely welcome from Elizabeth the owner, she hadn’t been expecting us, despite booking ,but showed us a room that was available. "Very quirky property, traditional French style in middle of St Valery with everything this beautiful town has to offer on the doorstep. Public parking available on the road just up from hotel. We stayed in Lawrence of Arabia suite which was interesting. Room to spread out in living area. Breakfasts are fantastic, with lovely fresh produce. Lovely host. "

"This is not a family space. It is a b and b hostel. We booked through hotels.com and specified that we were two adults with a 5-year old and a baby. The facilities we stayed in were not in any way appropriate for us. Two bedrooms and a hallway to a bathroom. All of this upstairs right next to wooden stairs that the baby could crawl down at any minute. Had he done this he almost certainly would have been killed. There was no kitchen. "This is a good enough rental but with some touches could be so much better. The biggest problem we had were the stairs to the bedroom, and if you have to use the bathroom you will be using them to descend from the loft beds. They are very narrow very steep and the bannister has come loose. This is a real safety problem and impossible for many people Throughout our stay my wife kept saying well this is how French rentals are. So you understand there was no toilet paper no paper towels no shampoo...

"3 jours dans cette très belle ville de Mers les Bains où les habitants sont accueillants et respectueux de l environnement. Originale dans son architecture cette ville vaut vraiment le detour..La location très propre et suffisante pour deux ou 3 personnes. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.
