"Stayed one night and it was really comfortable. The decor is crazy and mismatched but quite sweet all the same, the property is old and has a creaky charm. Our room was a large triple aspect and very light and airy. Breakfast was adequate with tea coffee porridge yogurt fruit and scones. We ate at the restaurant across the street for dinner and that did good fish /seafood. Great location easy parking safe area. They took a $100 ‘bond’ but I’m still awaiting its return, hopefully soon. "

"We loved staying at The Carter House. The staff provided first class service. The breakfast and dinner in their restaurant was top chef quality. Their wine collection is massive noted by Wine Spectator. They take service and guest satisfaction very seriously. We didn’t get a room upgrade but that could be because we had our larger dog with us. They are very dog friendly. "

"Nice hotel but WAY too expensive. They charged me well over double the normal rate for a Saturday stay over memorial day weekend. A Best Western should not cost over $350 a night."
