"Absolute gem of a property, full of history and charm. Lovely room and comfortable bed. Close to the local historic sites and walking distance to the amenities of Appomattox. And the owners were very helpful"
"This perfect little house in Appomattox is the best! It is less expensive than the hotel in the town. You cannot ask for more than a 3 bedroom house with a wonderful kitchen, bathroom, front porch and snacks on the table. Beyond comfortable. Great TV selections in the living room with wonderful seating for all. Did I mention a washer and dryer! I have stayed in this house at least 4 times over the past few years. Don't hesitate to book this best kept secret in Appomattox."
7 BR Manor - Central to the Eastern Seaboard. 9 private sleeping areas.
10/10 Excellent
"This is a beautiful home with tons of space for large groups. The kitchen is a wonderful size for large groups. The extra fridges was a big plus for our large group. Enough room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. The pool was a huge hit for our group. I loved the porches and the sitting space they offered."
"Such a kind, thoughtful host. Unit has everything you need to feel at home. Nice little room for a child conveniently located next to queen bed location. Porch is great for morning tea & devotional. Wonderfully quiet, safe neighborhood. We hope to return again."
"If you plan to go to this area frankly there is no better alternative. From the charming rooms and staff to the excellent meals, Babcock is a great place to stay."
"Wonderful secluded cabin! Great location near state park and national park. Very convenient to Appomattox and Farmville, about 20 minutes either direction for groceries and restaurants. Nice clean hot tub. Great for relaxing and staring up at the night sky, which is full of stars!Kitchen is well appointed, with a toaster, microwave, coffee maker, plenty of pots/pans utensils. There is a dishwasher and full size fridge/freezer. The full bathroom has a walk in shower. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were available as well as ample towels.1/2 bath in the 2nd bedroom is a nice feature. Beds were comfy! For those who have not spent time in the rural country, you should know the house is surrounded by forest. You will hear animals. You will see bugs like spiders, and ticks (ticks especially under the pine trees). This is just how things are in central Virginia, in the summer in the woods. You will also enjoy lightning bugs (fire flies), and many species of birds. The driveway is gravel and somewhat narrow. We easily parked 2 vehicles and roundabout near the house makes it easy to maneuver. If you have a massive vehicle, or you are towing something large it might be a bit tricky. Overall we loved it and would stay again."
"Very pleased with the home. It was well stocked, clean and in a good location. Really enjoyed the front porch and games. Would definitely recommend to others.Working with VRBO and Evolve was stressful and very time consuming. They ran our credit card 3 times and it took almost 4 hours and multiple calls to get it resolved. Extremely frustrating-but that was not the owner’s fault."
